Will the Eagles Game be Flexed?

Dallas is the biggest draw no matter who they are playing. Half of America watches to see them lose and the other half for a win. This game has a 99.9% chance of being flexed.

Yeah, I could see Pack/Bears, but then they'll go with the ratings in the end. And I don't like it, lol. Just don't playing on Sunday night, for the above reason we seem to suck and I know Michaels is a rapid Cowboy hater.

I read this...

In the past, three teams could appear a maximum of six games in primetime on NBC, ESPN or NFL Network (everyone else gets five) and no team may appear more than four times on NBC. I don’t know how the expansion of the Thursday Night schedule affects this, if it does. No team starts the season completely tapped out at any measure; six teams have five primetime appearances each, but only the 49ers don’t have at least one game that can be flexed out. A list of all teams’ number of appearances is in my Week 5 post. - See more at: http://sports.morganwick.com/category/football/nfl/snf-flex-scheduling-watch/#sthash.U1rTOfYm.dpuf

Yeah… that game is going to be 99.9% Cowboys/Eagles. The Bears/Packers rivalry is big, but NBC knows what generates casual interest. People will tune in to see the Cowboys collapse.

I really hope they go with that game though. It's not right that our game becomes any more pressured than it needs to be. Packers/Bears would probably be the better game from a football standpoint anyway especially if Rodgers returns.

Rodgers is not returning, and he was never close.

The only games with a chance of being flexed are the following:

Philly @ Dallas....this is the likely flex based on the story-lines and Dallas being NBC's money-ticket
GB @ Chicago....possible here, especially if Rodgers can come back and play for a chance for the division or wild-card
Balt @ Cincy....If Balt wins against NE (currently losing 14-0), they could win the division by beating Cincy

The media loves Dallas elimination games. I don't see how it doesn't get flexed.

And a possible Tony Romo choke. Combine America's Team and fans who want the Cowboys to win with fans who want the Cowboys to get eliminated from the playoffs, plus a gregarious owner who the cameras can't stay away from to Jason Garrett possibly coaching his last job ... SNF here we come.

it's pretty much guaranteed at this point. unless Fox blackmails NBC into asking for something else. Cowboys primetime games give NBC their best ratings and this is another last game of the season everything on the line game for Dallas. we all know that there are as many people who want to see our team fail on national TV as there are fans who want to see them win. this would be the biggest no-brainer decision for NBC. no offense to the Chicago-Green Bay rivalry but i'd bet our game would end up with over 1 million more viewers than that game.

That and if Aaron Rogers doesn't play, the game doesn't have as much sex appeal as the Romo clutch-choker angle.

I agree. I think we'll get flexed. But I just think we're underestimating how popular the Packers vs Bears with Rodgers back could be. Like someone said earlier, last year's finale was against the Commanders, and (in case you forgot) RG3 was the most popular thing on the planet last year. The Eagles are not last year's Commanders. Nobody cares about the Eagles.

In a one way I don't mind it being flexed cause that might be the only way I can watch it live on my tv and not PC stream being in the Northeast.

Al Michaels has been the voice of nearly every Cowboys debacle for the past 7- 8 years. I don't see next week being any different.
