Nope. Life is life. My wife’s father died several years ago. Did I still go to work? Yes. Did anyone cut me slack for the huge death in our family? Nope. Life happens and we just put our head down and move on.

I've wanted to say this many times....when Dak fans say we should cut him some slack....for things that happened to every single person on the planet?

I wonder how much Dak cares about my trials and tribulations. Well...no I don't. I just do my job as expected...and go about my life.

I doubt it. I bet most players in the NFL have this type of distraction going on but no one cares because they’re not the QB of the Cowboys. If he isn’t playing good next year I doubt it would be because of this. Unfortunately it will be discussed all season after every game.

I'm not even sure it's just that.

Dak's lack of "success" (not just stats) needs some excuse...bonus for the virtue signalling.

Given Dak's path to being QB of the Cowboys, even his harshest critics - like yours truly - have to admit he is mentally tough. BUT that his its limits...and at the end of the day, Dak's insecurities and self-help lies are all exposed on the biggest stages.

Dak made the relationship and engagement very public...which means there is a very public reckoning to be had. That means that this is another issue in his head when has 2.3 seconds to get rid of the ball. I don't buy that Dak "forgets" his problems on the football field...especially in those biggest moments.

Dak lost his mother during the middle of the 2013 football season, and went on to have his best college year the next year. If Mississippi State was a competent team they make the playoffs, win one game and go to the championship game, where they probably to lose to Ohio St.

That was a much bigger moment in his life than losing his girlfriend who is replaceable.

The year he got injured when he was on pace for 6000 yards, he came back flying the next year. Regressed a bit towards the end, but still a promising comeback to build on. And in 2024 when he was injured, he comes back to have his best year in 2025 and the defense predictably stunk it up against the Lions and Vikings in must win games.

I'd much rather lose my girlfriend than my mother or my leg, or the muscles holding my leg together.

All those tattoos say otherwise. Dak has some serious trauma lying beneath the surface. He might not address until his playing days are over.

Don't get me wrong, he's rich and successful...but that doesn't mean your demons are gone - see Tiger Woods. I think Dak has a much more stable life than Tiger...but so did Tiger up to about 30-35 lol.

It hits different when the trauma involves your children. Mom is "supposed" to die before you...and your brother was a grown man.

I've known people from all walks of life - streets, corporate, sports, etc. - who survived shootings, jail, bankruptcy, courts, excruciating rehab - and then were completely destroyed by a woman or the fallout of the relationship.
