2014 - Seattle loses to NE; fails to make the playoffs the next year
2015 - Carolina goes 15-1 in the regular season, loses to Denver; fails to make the playoffs the next year
2016 - Atlanta loses to NE; makes the playoffs the next year as a Wild Card, but loses in the Division Round.
2017 - Philly beats NE; makes the playoffs the next year as a Wild Card, but loses in the Division Round (IMO, Philly only made the playoffs this year because Wentz got hurt. They were going nowhere until St. Nick took over with 4 games left)
2018 - LA loses to NE

What becomes of LAR next year? Belichick showed how to defense LA and, in particular, Goff - make him read the defense on his own. Will other teams learn from that?

I do think the Rams take a step back next year. How far? Who knows.

At some point Goff has to become an effective QB without having McVey constantly holding his hand.

Belichek exploited this to perfection yesterday.

I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't make the playoffs..just happens for whatever reason

I don't think the trend will end because too many of their important defenders will hit FA.They were built to win this year by bringing in all the defenders. Seattle and SF will make the same splashes that the Rams did last year but the only difference is that they will address the offensive side of the ball.

I know one thing: their stadium will continue to be filled with opposing fans. They better pray they don't slip too far, or they'll have to stop asking "who's house?"

The Rams broke the bank to assemble this team so they could just lose the Super Bowl. A ton of their players hit free agency in 2019 and 2020 then they have to pay Goff. They aren't in great shape long-term.

I think Seattle wins that Division next year. They have the best QB.

San Fran and LA will battle for 2nd. The only question for me for SF is at QB. I wanted to see Jimmy G build on 2017 before pronouncing him HoF in waiting and even more so now after the injury. But they're going to get to add some more real talent in this year's draft.

Easier said than done. Belichick sold out on the pass because it was the SB so of course he expected the Rams to try and light it up, abandoning the run. In the regular season Gurley and Anderson will tear you apart if you're going to pass rush all game. But I do think the Rams win the division again next year. Mainly because I have no confidence in the 49ers, Seahawks and Cards. Just like the Patriots will win the division next year as well.

I wouldn't give Goff an extension. Let him play out his 4th year and pick up his 5th year option.

Seahawks are on the come up in that division and the 49ers got bounced out of the race early with Jimmy G going down and I think Kyle Shanahan is a great young O coach

If they missed the playoffs I would be shocked.

Suh and Talib were one year rentals?

I have no clue whats wrong with Gurley but if he was so limited in the last game of the year which happened to be the Super Bowl that tells me alot

Goffs contract coming up might slow down anything they do

no.
I don't believe they break the trend.
seattle could win that division...rams could be a wild-card but I don't believe they are any kind of dynasty in the making.
philly isn't either....neither was atlanta.
NFC is open.
