Will the weather even be a factor?

the weather is expected to be around 20-24 with winds 0-4mph. isnt this closer to being good football weather? on top of that the underground heating system is suppose to keep the field around 55 (it wasnt working in icebowl).
I just dont think the temp will be a factor. Their playoff game last year was colder at 5 degrees.
think the media is just trying hard to make this an ice bowl II but I dont think it'll be anything like it. I remember loving to play in 20-40 degree range. 10 minutes into the game its just not a factor
anybody feel 20 degrees will affect the game?

I think the field care taker sets the temp as to what the field temp will be, it was in an article. I read it should feel around 40.
Wonder if it will not work for some reason yet again.
Also depends when they start the heating system. Will it be at the temp at the beginning of the game, or will it gradually increase as the game goes on.

Both teams will have to play in the same weather. And despite what anyone says. You dont adapt to freezing cold temps no matter where you live. Its how you prepare for playing in cold weather.

40 should be fine. Dont think it'll have problems this time. If the were playing SD or Miami maybe but like Romo said we're in the NFC east and used to playing in the cold

dont see 20 as being an extreme. if I was asked if I wanted to play in 20 or 80 degree weather I would take 20. Maybe its just me cause I grew up in colder weather

It feels like -13 up there right now and the high is supposed to be 12 Today. That's a 25 degree swing. If that occurs tomorrow it will feel like -5 around kickoff. Yes, I believe it'll be a factor.

Interesting. Didn't know they had some type of heating system for the field. Thanks for that info/reference.

Yes, the weather will be a factor. Anytime the weather is as cold as it promises to be Sunday, it's only a matter of common sense to figure the game will be affected. The football will be hard and slick and the hands of the receivers are sure to be cold and stiff. I fully anticipate the passes of both teams to be dropped more than they normally might be in better weather conditions. Hence, the increased dependency upon the ground game.

I agree that it'll be a factor, but maybe not quite as big of a factor as some are making it out to be.

Our team is truly built for these types of games/conditions.

Yep. It's been in the teens where I live this week and it still feels like death even though I should be "use to it"

The more of a grind out game it becomes, the more I like our chances. We're built to wear teams down.

Which is why I laugh every time Mickey starts complaining about us sticking to the run, like running the ball is just about getting 5 yards per carry.

If we let Rodgers start flinging it around for quick scores, then we might be in trouble.

The weather could be a factor on Rodgers calf it's going to be hard for him to keep it loose in cold weather. Can't recall the Cowboys winning a game under Romo in sub 30 degree temps. The coldest game I can remember the Cowboys playing in under Romo was vs Pittsburgh in Dec of 08 the temp was 22 degrees with a wind chill of 8 degrees. For some reason Romo decided to play without sleeves and was clearly bothered by the cold. He was caught running over to the sideline heater to warm up his arms. He ended up falling apart late in that game not saying the cold weather conditions caused that but who knows.

I agree that a person doesn't adapt to the cold weather; however, they do adapt their preparation for dealing with the cold weather. The more you play in cold weather the better you are at preparing for playing in cold weather. It is more about familiarity than any type of physical adaptation.

doesn't really matter how cold it is as long as there isn't any wind...

Sub zero would have an affect even in calm wind conditions I've heard a number of players talk about how difficult it is to function in extremely cold conditions. That shouldn't be the case tomorrow unless the forecasters are wrong like they were heading into the Ice Bowl. It was a balmy 23 degrees the day before that game and the forecast was the same for the game with a front due in after the game. The front ended up coming in before the game which caught everyone off guard.
