We've now hit our bye week. Will having two weeks off make us a better team? I'm certainly hoping we'll at least be a much healtier team. Hopefully when we line up against Atlanta in two weeks, we'll have Felix, Roy Williams, Sensabaugh, and Hamlin back and that Barber will be 100%. That alone should make us a better team. Hopefully we'll also put in A LOT of work on the penalty issues. Personally, I thought we had a good chance of being 5-0 going into the bye before the season started. Obviously I was wrong. But, losing today would've basically put an end to our playoff hopes IMO. Even though we struggled to a win, it was nonetheless a W on the road. Hopefully that along with the time off will propel us to the rest of the season on a positive note.

The Broncos just beat New England, so I guess they are for real. Even though we've not played very well in any of our five games so far, we're still two plays away from being 5-0. In both losses, our own mistakes cost us the games. If we can get and stay healthy, and right the ship where turnovers and especially penalties are concerned, we might have a chance. The problem is I don't think we have the coaching staff to do it.

Only a trip to Cabo can make a difference during a bye week.

We will be healthier, but we need to work hard on execution, IMO.

As for the penalties, they have to cut them down somehow. I guess the staff has to keep re-iterating it to the players.

News Flash to the slow ones out there: 8 MONTHS OF OFFSEASON DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, WHY IS TWO WEEKS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

I'm just at a loss when it comes to the penalties. Every team is going to commit penalties and they normally seem to come at the worse time. We, however, take it to a whole new level. For some reason the players just don't get it. I can take a penalty for aggressive play, but the pre-snap penalties just drive me nuts. Why in the hell can we not get the right players in the right spot and get the play in on time so we don't have to rush EVERY DAMN offensive snap. This causes delay of game penalties, wasted timeouts, and rushed execution on offense. There is just no excuse for this happening time and time again. Today was not a preseason game. It was not the first regular game of the season. We're in the second quarter of the season and we still can't get the damn ball snapped!!!!!!! On the other side of the ball, how can we continually line up or jump offsides? Time and time again. Just lack of smarts and discipline. You would think it is the fault of the coaching staff (and I still think it is), but we did the same things when Parcells was here. Why can our players not play smart? Is there something in the water at Valley Ranch? Do we just sign stupid players?

:( These next 2 weeks better make a difference . High flyin Falcons looked scary good against 49'ers. Ryan threw for over 300 yards/ they ran for over 100.
