Will we be dead last in defense this season?

Last year we were the 2nd worst defense in the league. We just spent our only premium pick on offense when there were a number of good DTs available. The board is clamoring to spend the rest of the picks....on offense. Jerry spent bottom dollar on a bunch of FA rejects.

Is no one else concerned by the thought of having to watch our defense get abused week after week after week?

Concerned, yes.

But not writing off the defense just yet, Cowboys did eventually get the big guy in the middle they needed (and for which many here have been clamoring for the past 10 years at least) and got a quick LB that can maybe fill gaps and get to outside runners.

Also haven't totally given up on Mazi, though I think he's headed towards being a bust, some players take a while to "click" to the NFL, but this year is his last chance if I was a betting man.

And Kneeland is still young, should be able to recover from his injury by camp, with a few games experience last year he could make a good jump this year.

A lot to overcome, but we'll just have to wait and see...

You actually think that Fowler is a reject?

When healthy we have two of the top Corners in football, along with arguably the best pass rusher in football. Add in a bright young superstar Overshown (when healthy). We just added Dono EZ, who led CFB in sacks, and a top corner. Not to mention two DT’s.

Health is always a concern, but if healthy it’s not bad at all.

Now THAT'S what I call an extremely positive outlook!

When we do that, nothing can ever bother us!

Dak might even improve nicely . . .

in the regular season.

No, our pasa rush will be much better. I expect middle of the pack in run defense. I suspect we add a player or two in free agency.

yes we will be bottom feeders again. new coach. new scheme. new players. lack of talent. and offense will get blamed for not winning games and why they aren't scoring 38 points a game.

but on the other hand, you sell more offense jerseys than defense, so there is ROI in the picks.

I doubt it. We had significant injuries last year, though likely they will bleed into this year too. Two of our top three picks went to defense and we added some beef in the middle in the later rounds. We may not be a top defense but I don’t think we will be near the bottom either.

It’s all true. We won 7 games with really nothing. Should have swept Wash as well. Health in the NFL is the name of the game. SF wasn’t healthy and neither were we. Detroit looked like the SB favorite for about 15 weeks and then the D injuries all caught up to them in the end.

Dak can win games. We need rookie Dak back. Play action, and rely on the running game. He’s not capable if it’s all on his shoulders unfortunately…..
