Will we be dead last in defense this season?

Last year we were the 2nd worst defense in the league. We just spent our only premium pick on offense when there were a number of good DTs available. The board is clamoring to spend the rest of the picks....on offense. Jerry spent bottom dollar on a bunch of FA rejects.

Is no one else concerned by the thought of having to watch our defense get abused week after week after week?

Ya’ll sure are painting a rosy scenario. With gum drops and jelly beans. Right now every fan base has visions of SB parade and bragging rights dancing in their heads.

Coming in for a hard landing eventually. Track record tells you otherwise. BTW , hate to break it to you, there is no Santa, Easter Bunny or the Toothfairy.

NFL measure defense rank by total defense.

Scoring may be the bottom line but scoring defense can be altered by an inept offense plus turnovers. Unless you think the offense will be just as bad this year even with Dak back and some upgrades, I don't see the D being in as bad a shape this year.

There are other reasons too but that is enough for me to say no way they are 32nd.

There were a lot of injuries last year, and the defense showed improvement over the course of the season. I'll beleive we actually have a good defense when I see it.....but, there's no way we'll be the worst defense in the league.

D is mid 20's, o is in the teens, st/kicking is top 3, coaching is an unknown. We are below average.

They were 2nd worst in PPG. You didn't make a very convincing argument if your only reason is .....Dak?

One of those guys had a 4th roundish grade. Forget who. But I suspect at least one will be serviceable.

no way we are going to be a top 15 team on defense. even if the offense plays well, this defense is a mismatch of players. new scheme. players coming off major injuries.

I think you're underestimating our improved pass rush. Top defense in what regard?

Hard to say. W/ our studs at DE, we can beat the bad teams, so more likely middle of the pack.

Need we remind you that they drafted a dynamite 1st round pass rusher in the 2nd round and a 1st round talented CB in the 3rd? Sheesh.

Say what now? 3 first rounders? It's probably time for everyone to cook their collective jets on the draft. And neither of those guys addresses our woeful DT situation. And it's doubtful the late round blobs will although I would love to be wrong.
