What a crock of crap that penalty was. How many times does a receiver get up and spin the ball on the ground like a top? They said a season ago that would be called as a penalty. I've never seen it called.

Then Williams gets that call. You probably won't see that again this year.

Didn't like it either, but I could see it happening as soon as he did it. If Victor Cruz had done that, we'd want a penalty too. Just a bit too much contempt in his spike if he had just quickly banged it off the turf he woulda been ok.

I agree thought it was ticky tacky, but by rules it was correct but then it should be called on others as well.

what? different rules for different players? It was lame, but whatever. And ive never wanted a penalty on the opposing team if they spike the ball, tis stupid. IF its at a player, yes, on the ground not hurting anyone, no.

What i was impressed with, the fights that kept taking place and no one getting ejected. I thought a few times, uh oh, "this they wont stand for" but they kinda seemed to say well fights are ok, psiking the ball, not so much.

It was the correct call according to the rules. If you celebrate in a way that sends the ball careening down the field, it's a penalty.

Was hoping it wouldn't be called, but as soon as I saw him do it, I knew there was a chance.

I never have a problem with the rules being enforced, it's just too bad they are not enforced uniformly.

it is a penalty, but i see the same thing every week and it's not called. consitancy is all i want

I thought he spiked it when he was out of bounds too.

The Refs drive me crazy. I just want to see consistency in the calls. Holding on the OLine is the one that really gets me. The game can go for long stretches with a lot of obvious holding by both team's OLines, but then it seems to get called at the most critical times in the game. If they're going to call it, they should do it more early in the game to show that it will be called. If they're not going to call obvious holding early in the game, then don't call questionable holding late in the game in critical situations.

When he spiked the ball I rolled my eyes knowing it was going to be penalty. When it took a few moments before they threw the flag I thought Williams got away with one.

Save that stuff for touchdowns.

I was watching the RZC for the early games. Miles did it after every catch he made. No flags lol

Agree and I'd bet Dez got in his ear and said "no more buddy"...

If that's the case, Garcon needs a penalty every time he catches the ball.

Every catch he makes, he gets up, and spins the ball on the ground, delay of game.

Exactly i was just saying this last night.... I feel you can have 3 quarters of solid football then in the 4th and late game situations the zebras decide to get hot trigger fingers and you see the hankey thrown all over the field...

truly annoying.... especially when you see Seattle's secondary molesting our receivers all game

I think apart of it is where the ball ends up. Spinning the ball versus spiking it and it bouncing 10-20 yards down the field, into the middle of the field.

I thought I saw that ball bounce towards the middle and far.

Meh...just can't work up the outrage for it.

NFL = No Fun League, you're not allowed to show emotions or excitement. I could understand if the ball went way out of bounds, or 10 yards down the field after spiking it, but it stayed within the vicinity of Williams. That was hardly a spike, what a joke. There's only one thing that annoys me more then Eagle fans and that's tick tacky refs calling a Cowboys game.

It may have to do with where the ball ended up. Most guys spin the ball like a top ball stays right there near them, Williams spiked it and it went out into the middle of the field.
