Whatever happens tomorrow, this season has been a real delight for fans like me who love coming back from the underdog position. From a team that I was unsure whether we'd finish 8-8 or 10-6 to finishes strong with wins in Philly, New Orleans, and twice in Dallas at the end...making the playoffs, winning a playoff game...knowing next year won't be a year of reading about "no heart, no coaching, suspect QB, December, no playoff wins"...that alone makes next season something to look forward to.

A team that started slowly, fought every quarter and never laid down in defeat or victory, to see the Cowboys really gel as a team and find themselves and their confidence and swagger...and to do it the right way with mostly home grown stars and inexpensive FA instead of trying to buy a win...you just have to love this team.

Win or lose tomorrow, "Thanks to the players and coaches for making this a season I have really enjoyed and for giving me great hope that we are on the right track for future seasons as well."

Well said. It's easy to be selfish as a fan and always want more, but we did accomplish a lot this year. We found our WR of the future, our QB took amazing strides, our defense is close to being elite, and Spencer is finally getting it. With that being said, we blow out Minnesota tomorrow lol.

Win or lose, I'll still stand by this team. That said, I'm going to be much happier if we win. Right now is about this year. What's great about this team is I think they realize this more than anyone.

This has been a good year.

I was happy to see Jerry get rid of the crap...dare I hope he's actually learned his lesson? This year it's looking like Jerry's starting to do things right. Not bad, after only 20 years of OJT.

I'm a happy camper whether they win it all or not, as long as they're giving it their all and playing as a team instead of an unruly mob like last year. Last year was disgusting.

This was such a special year. Becoming a fan in 98(3rd grade) I hadnt seen a playoff win yet, and this was extremely pleasing to see how hard our guys fought! I know there is still fight in em, and I know we have what it takes to get to the Ship!! GO COWBOYS!

Great post, Wayne. Very well said.

I think it was Everlasting who said several weeks ago that "Win or lose, I like this team better than any we've had in the last 10 years." (Something like that.) I totally agree. It's been really fun rooting for these guys. Sometimes I'll watch an old recording from the last couple years, and I always turn it off because I realize how much I disliked some of the characters on those teams and how much more I like this one.

Very well said, I would love for the team to beat Minny tommorow, but if it is not in the cards and we lose I will still say this season was one of my favorites.

Nobody predicted in preseason (except the ultra homers) that we would even get this far. Most preseason mags had us at 8-8 and no better than 3rd in the division. So for us to be sitting here at 12-5 with an NFC East title and a playoff win under our belt is fantastic!!!

Even if we lose, we have a very bright future ahead. We have tons of talent and most of our key players are still under 30. We should be able to compete with the top teams for at least the next 4-5 years.

I look at the game tommorow as gravy, we were never suppossed to even be in this postion to begin with. Lets just go out there, no pressure, and just play some good football and see what happens.

Yeah, i kind of have the same feeling. Although odds are very favorable to Dallas, when considering the teams talent overall. I think its a gravy anything above a playoff win, but personally if they win tomorrow, one more can't win thing will be gone, that is road playoff win since 92.

NFC Championship appearance I consider a super success considering what most people thought this team will be. Because I think it might be hard to beat Saints again, even though team matches up very well again to what Saints do. It might be very hard to beat back to back road wins, against high flying offenses.

The media has me with mixed feelings and lack of total feel for this game.

Both teams have offenses that can run or pass, drive or strike quickly. Both teams have decent defense...slight favor to Dallas, though MInny did whip GB twice this season.

Mooch gave a big special teams edge to Minny in this game...they have the NFC probowl special teamer with a great kick coverage unit. They have a kicker who is over 90% and a great history in the playoffs. They have Percy Harvin at #3 in the league in kickoff returns...a great week for Buehler to drive them all into the endzone.

On the other hand, Bret Favre is something like 2-9 lifetime against the Cowboys, including the playoffs.

I'm still picking:

Cowboys 31
Vikings 23

But the #6 seeds are all gone from the playoffs now, and with all top teams left, we shouldn't expect anything easy. Come on Cowboys...just give us your best, a real hard nosed game...let's really be physical with the Vikings and let the chips fall where they may.

Well said. However we are the Dallas Cowboys... anything short of a Superbowl is crap! We aren't the Eagles.

I don't believe this.

This has been a great year and I am very happy with direction this team is heading. Parcells set us in the right direction and then we veered off course in 2008 due to the declining skills of TO and the distraction that he became in the locker room.

At the end of the day, I really like this team as it is constructed. I do believe we will be stronger next season and will the the preseason favorites in the NFC. I really like the character this team has - no troublemakers, no prima donnas, no druggies, no wife beaters. We got guys like Ware, Romo, Brooking, Witten, Felix, Barber and Austin as our stars and leaders. We are about to become the envy of the league again but for all the right reasons.

While I'll be disappointed with a loss today, I can still be proud of this team.
