For those that are not that thrilled with hiring Buddy's demon seed, you are not looking at this correctly.........this is a win win scenario for us!!!

If Ryan turns our D into a top unit, he will most likely be offered a HC job next year...........thus we will need a new DC.

If Ryan sucks as bad as some posters claim he does, he will be fired at the end of the season.............thus we will need a new DC.

Just so happens that Capers has 1 year left on his contract in Green Bay. It looks like we are going to need a new DC next year, regardless of how Ryan does. Put 2 and 2 together guys and you see it is a win win for us either way!!!

Given what Ryan has to work with in Dallas, and that includes one of the top offenses and QBs in the NFL, it should really help him put together a respectable defense.

Plus, I think we'll go heavy in the Draft for defense, as well as get a couple of FAs for that side of the team this off-season.

I am happy with Ryan being the DC, if in fact he winds up hired. I would rather not have to replace the DC every year, or every other year, though. I'd like to see the coaching staff stay together for a few years and see what they can do.

Of course that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

How do you figure we have nothing to lose???

If he would be a failure, we have yet another season down the drain.

Don't understand your logic at all.

I think that alternatives possible down the road was the issue being presented...not a weather vane indicatiing direction of prevailing winds at the 'ol home front.

going to assume there was heavy drinking involved in this thread.

ryan is a good DC and we should be glad he is a candidate given how few are left.

capers does likely leave GB next year... for a head coaching gig.

will 1 good year get rob a hc gig? possibly, if he wants to jump on a land mine of a gig.

Wished he would be able to stick around for years to come, changing the schemes often isnt going to help much

I expect him to be successful as our DC and really hope he is here longer than one year... I'm also not a big fan of revolving door coaches.. I won't get too caught up in the muck of wondering what will be in a year. I'll just continue to be hopeful and excited about what's coming our way on D very soon.

Rob Ryan was pretty high on my wish list for HC back before Wade got canned. I think he'll bring a very nasty attitude to our D, at least i hope he does. I'm tired of seeing these guys damn near high five offenses when they make a play on them.

I really don't care that he's the spawn of Buddy, i hope we get him signed

fwiw, if gb offers capers a multi year extension, i'd be suprised if he didn't accept

Does everyone really believe that the Cowboys are so much more 'glamorous' than the Packers that Capers would simply leave the Packers when they are performing at the highest level within the Defensive system he has installed?

Especially if they move on to the Super Bowl?

I've been a Cowboy's fan since 1960. I watched the Ice Bowl when I was 11 years old against the Packers. The Packers have always been a premier football organization. I despise what they did to us in the 60's and have ever since...

I know Capers and Garrett are friends, but folks - this is about business...
