The rumors are all over the board since this was a release candidate that means they are closer than you think of tidying up stuff and fine tunning stuff and bugs.

Microsoft needs a big win because over 90% of the companies have no plan to upgrade to Vista which is a big cash cow for there consulting services and so forth and there premiere support that large companies pay for. I tell you right now that stuff is not cheap.

So most large companies are waiting for Windows 7.

Ok the rumors have been from July 2009 (was never going to happen that was the worse one)

The next too rumors have merit because of Release Content Beta 1

Look for right around the Christmas time or Jan 2010 as the rumors. I sure Microsoft would prefer around Christmas.

You use ISO buster to pull files out of a CD or to slipstream service packs into CD's

I also used something called Sonic RecordNow when trying d/l an ISO file.

It was actually quite easy once I figured it out...

But if Roxio works and you have it, then go for it.

Kangaroo,

Those release dates are actually cool to know. I want/need to buy a new laptop, but I don't want Vista. Tho I know I can go back to XP, I'd rather wait for Win7 to come out.

What about Windows DVD Maker that's installed on this machine?

Abandoning this for now and moving on till later, only at 27% on the d/l ver 2.0

I can d/l Roxio if need be. I think I have this now...it's should be straight forward...thanks yall

Try using Nero to burn the file to cd. That should work. I'm going to download Windows 7, and install on my old dell laptop. Hopefully, it will have the minimum requirements needed.

The funny thing is, I actually bought Windows Vista when it came out, and I never installed it. I know a lot of people who did install it, and ended up going back to xp.

Downloading ISO is the standard now for OS distributions even for Linux fedora core; Ubantu etc.

Windows 7 will not burn to a cd you will need a dvd due to the size
