Winning a Super Bowl shouldn't be the goal

I've seen 4 Cowboys Super Bowl victories and never seen beeching over any of the them. But yes, 4 wildcard wins in 29 years is something to be excited about.
Not excited....just know there isn't anything I can do about it...not worth getting pissed about it....at least not to me.

If winning just one Super Bowl is your only goal you will never achieve greatness.
If achieving greatness is your goal you will win more than one Super Bowl if you can achieve it.
What the hell are you talking about?

Some think it's all about a Super Bowl, and that's all that matters. Mortgage the team's future for just one season in which they get to do all of the interviews and reap all of the glory.
But if the Cowboys want to be the franchise that made the world fall in love with them, greatness is the goal.
But that is something this franchise apparently doesn't understand. From Jason Garrett saying "Be great today", to Dak Prescott promising to win Jerry a championship, all the way to the circus atmosphere and sales hype from Jerry's ringleader business model, it is clear that there is no one in the building that understands how or what greatness is.
It can't be spoken. It can't be bought. Fancy uniforms don't make a team great. A big stadium doesn't make a team great- although it helps. From the sounds of the interviews and the manner in which this franchise has been run for the past 20 years, it's clear they have no idea what "greatness" really is.
But that is what the Cowboys should be striving for. With greatness, Super Bowls are simply a by product.
But, here's the secret: Greatness can only be ACHIEVED, if they know how.
Good grief dude. Super Bowl wins is the ONLY metric that teams are judged on.

lol Lee you seem in lock step with the FO, winning the SB is certainly not the goal for them either..lol

This would be incorrect. The two guys that actually run this entire franchise don’t think winning the Super Bowl is the goal.
It's correct because the title of the thread is "Winning a super bowl shouldn't be the goal".

Those were before the explosion of the internet and social media, and this place.

Oh, believe us, there would have been a lot of whining.

I said it.
Winning one Super Bowl doesn't mean a lot if they can't sustain it past one season.
If they achieve greatness, the Super Bowl wins will come. Opposing teams will fear playing them. Fans will respect them and cheer them on.
But to be a flash in the pan in today's NFL, they do that every season. Always hyped to be more than they are, only to be exposed and humiliated when they faced a real team.
What good is that?
You got your wish for 29 seasons, relevance, winning nothing that matters. If this is your attempt at sarcasm you failed miserably

Would you all rather have a COOG thread!!?? Would you all rather have a COOG thread!!?? Would you all rather have a COOG thread!!?? Would you all rather have a COOG thread!!?? lol. Larger font does not necessarily include capital letters but what I put in bold certainly is.

This is the dumbest thread in sports history, and I mean. The Championship in any sport is the goal
