Why?
For 99% of you, I do not need to tell you.

For THIS season though - this is now EXPONENTIALLY important!

Think about this:
Dallas
Philadelphia
Detroit
Green Bay
Arizona
San Francisco
Seattle

ONE of these teams WILL have their first playoff game IN NEW ORLEANS!!!

Do you really want to see your Dallas Cowboys going to the DOME???

Can you see the importance of tonight's game against their arch rival being ratcheted up greatly?

Dallas MUST CASH THIS DIVISIONAL HOME GAME IN!

A common myth that New Orleans is a horrid road team. Though this year they've certainly struggled. We are the only home team to really beat them up.

As to your point... yes getting a first round bye is important. News at 11.

I can only see that if Dallas collapses and only squeaks in as WC. If Dall and NO win their divisions at 11-5 we get the tie breaker over NO, no way NO wins out.

With this running game we can win in any stadium. Besides, there's 8 weeks left in the season, too early to be crowning the Saints

It's not so much that New Orleans is a horrid road team, but that they're often unstoppable at home. If they turn things around (which they may have done last night) and win that division with all cylinders firing, I sure as heck wouldn't want to go play them in New Orleans in the playoffs.

But as pointed out above, a lot would have to happen for us to have to play @NO in the playoffs. I don't see it happening.

Even if we don't win the bye but win the division, we'll still have a first round home game at least.

The bye will be a lot more important than whether we play at home or on the road in the playoffs, especially considering Murray's workload. The week 11 bye, a few extra days for Thanksgiving, and week 18 off could make a big difference for him in the playoffs. And, if we've clinched before the Washington finale, that could be another entire week to sit and rest.

They're 0-4 on the road. That's horrid.

Bad juju to be talking byes before Thanksgiving. I'm not going to worry about any of that until the second PHI game is in the bag. There's so much football yet to be played, and every year there are teams invisible at the half-way point that end up being the real contenders in week 17. I don't think WAS or NYFG are those teams this year, but somebody's going to jump up and start playing well. In a way, I'd prefer that position to being one of the teams that gets out to a fast start, because it's so hard to carry that kind of momentum for 20 weeks.

I just want to get to the playoffs. But we need to win 5 out of the last 9. Itll take 11 wins most likely to get in.

It's been 22 years since Dallas won a road playoff game (excluding Super Bowls.) I wouldn't mind Dallas playing a road playoff game if it means that drought ends.

Main goal is just to get into the playoffs. I really don't care if its on the road or at home. If you are peaking at the right time than it shouldn't matter. As long as we are peaking in the December and not in November i'm good with that.
What if Carolina wins that division?

Yeah I wouldn't be so quick to put New Orleans in the playoffs. They haven't won a game on the road yet.
