They seem determined to sign a free agent WR.
They've talked to OBJ and tried to trade for Cooks who is guaranteed 18M next season.

Adding 1 elite player on defense would make a huge difference regardless of position. Preferably a big time DT but an elite CB would be big also.

Adding an elite player on the DL makes other players better because it pushes the #1 player down to #2 in the rotation.

At CB, worst case Bland plays outside and Lewis returns as the Nickel CB.

Sign DT Deron Payne
Sign OBJ to a mid-tier contract.
Draft a CB early.
Does Louis return for the playoffs

Open the playbook. Do try other players, in different spots. Give Micah less reps..etc.

I know this is going to be controversial, but I'd let Dak air it out. Be aggressive.

The reason: it's going to come down to quarterback play. Whether it's the Niners, the Bucs or the Eagles, they're going to stack the line and make Dak beat them.

They're going to show him different looks to confuse him and get him back to staring widely like he did against Tampa the first game of the season.
So goes Dak, so goes the Cowboys.

If he's not on point, we're going to lose because the Eagles, Bucs and Niners are going to game plan our running game, and I simply don't have trust in Kellen Moore to cook up something innovative and different to counter.

So might as well air it out. We have the weapons. If Dak can just get it there and our receivers catch it on critical downs.

I think this is the philosophy that McCarthy is using now. I get the feeling he preferred being aggressive vs the Jags even if it meant losing. His quote this week "Dak just needs to keep firing".

I really don't agree with the philosophy, but I think it's going to come down to that. I don't think we win in the playoffs with our running game, unless we're playing in cold Philadelphia. I think we're going to need Dak if we're going anywhere.

Love em or hate em (and this forum definitely has an opinion one way or the other), but we need him to be at his absolute best if we're going to get pass the gauntlet we have to run to get to the Super Bowl.

Lock Moore up in a room and have him watch tape of Andy Reids play design til his eyes bleed...

Not much you can do for the D when you're soft in the middle and the pass rush has gone bye bye.

I think they will learn Andy Reid's clock management.

With that in mind what would you do in the remaining regular season games?

Rest Diggs/Bland to see which backup CBs can step up as #3? Otherwise you only see 1 back at a time with only 3 games to find a starting 3rd CB for the playoffs.

Encourage Dak to continue aggressive passing because it does not matter how many INTs he throws in the remaining regular season games.

Move Jason Peters to DT...(just kidding).

Try anybody at LB over Anthony Barr...

Blitz 11 vs Philly if Hurts plays...

Bland needs reps. I'd lean more towards load management than rest for the majority.

This week they need to win. We want to keep Philly pushing for the 1 seed. Don't give them the opportunity to rest up.

So you think Zeke will sit out or will he be demanding 25 carries in the last week so he can get his 1000 yards?

Well if we are resting one of them it should be Pollard. If that is happens then Zeke probably will get them.

That said, still stalking Zeke I see? Beyond kind of creepy how you bring him up in almost any tread. Your like the Zeke version of a "Dak Hater" (man I hate that term).

Win the next three and than start another three game streak. I’m not resting players against Philly for nothing.

He was a tackling machine in the Jags game. Multiple stops of RBs that had not been slowed down by anybody else. More games like that will wear him down.

I don’t think you can turn it in and off. They need to get the run defense working and need defensive mojo again. They have been terrible the last couple weeks.

theres no easy team in the playoffs

5 is as high as we can go because Philly has the division on lock......im ready for Brady because if we want to do anything in the playoffs we have to finally tuck grandpa in and make sure he doesnt get out of the bed
Mehhh be careful what you wish for. Brady has never lost to the Cowboys.

This team isn’t beating any of the playoffs teams. 9ers would physically dominate, eagles will dominate offensively. Aj brown will make his game against tn look like a warm up. Minnesota will hang 50 on this d, Brady is smarter than anyone on this team player or coach and will dink and dunk to some no name player who goes off for 250 scrimmage yards and 3 touchdowns.
This team is so incredibly inconsistent and unpredictable. That's what makes me watch them. They can beat Cincinnati, The champion Rams, the Vikings, Giants twice and the Commanders. Then they can lose to Jacksonville and hang on for dear life against the Texans. There's always doom and gloom but always a glimmer of hope also
