How ‘bout chatting press coverage...offensively and on defense.

We all know that opposing defenses will be focused this season on stopping Zeke, and will likely try to flood the box.

Since this tactic often causes the offense to resort to quick passing plays I cannot help but wonder if defenses will also try lots of press coverage against us.

With the arrival of Coach Richard our receivers will get a lot of practice reps learning how to beat the press. It’s interesting to note that two of the league’s best receivers against the press...are Seahawks.*

Hawks receivers have to beat it in scrimmaging. Practice makes perfect?

Lal stresses technique and the chess matches between he and Richard will no doubt prove beneficial. Can't wait to see our wideouts checkmate that press move.

Then why in most every Seattle game - Russell Wilson is running for his life most of the time.

Uh...maybe because they have a horrible o-line? Don't see how this has anything to do with press coverage.

For the first time in years we have speed/hands outside, We have one of the best in the slot. we have speed at TE. We have a RB who will kill you out of the backfield. We have a elite OL with a real coach. We have a QB who is a threat to do it all.
Game over.
On defense, Rod will relinquish control as the season moves along. I'm fine with that.

One thing I learned today is that Seattle would often use a “Press-Release” or “Press-and-Bail”

The defender appears ready to engage the WR, but at the start of the play the corner peels back. Tricky, eh?
