Twitter: Wish we had Kyler Murray? Not so fast

I've never been sold on him as a long-term quarterback. Too small. Won't be able to run forever. He'll be done within 5-7 years, especially if he continues to run like he does.
Everyone wants to compare smallish quarterbacks to Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson has a thick trunk, plus he has learned to slide and avoid collisions based on his baseball background and doesn't rely as much on his legs as a runner. Murray has a baseball pedigree too, but he's too much of a runner. And runners take a lot of hits.

Someone else had a cannon for a arm and stole millions and millions of dollars from the raiders. He was out of the league in a few years. He could kneel on one knee and throw it 90 yards..

Yep. If a cannon for an arm meant so much, he'd be in the HOF. Wasn't that bum one of the primary reasons they started the rookie contracts the way they have them now?

The way Cowboy fans live in the moment no way would anyone want Murray after the dreadful performance he had against the Rams in the playoffs.

That’s likely the main reason. He really took some money.. He made 40 million in a very short career.. It changed the way the rookie contracts were done but allowed the rookies to renegotiate there contracts after 3 years. Guess who did that… Elliot… They may have changed that now…

The trend for millenial QBs is they have a hard time winning from the pocket.

Yikes that usually doesn't go very far in building team culture. Although it works for Rodgers..

After three years is the first chance you get to ask for an extension, not renegotiate. Elliott forced the issue. So did Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack after their 3rd year. Some get it without having to ask for one. Watson, Mahomes, Allen, all got extensions after their third year. Burrow and Herbert will also probably get extensions after next year. What they did about this was make it more difficult to hold out. Now if a player holds out, he not only doesn't get paid, but any and all fines are no longer forgiven. I have a feeling that's the message Kyler Murray is trying to send the Cardinals right now.
