With all the crap our safeties get...

When was the last time we gave up a long touchdown pass (something that was caught at least 25 yards past the line of scrimmage)? The play to Jennings last night was a 5 yard out that he turned up field.

The last one I recall was Donte Stallworth on Reeves. Even that included a lot of RAC yards.

Everyone keeps talking about how this defense is susceptible to the big play. Funny thing is that the only big plays that are happening is when we have the ball. Wade Phillips is doing a great job forcing teams to earn points.

Yep, it's amazing that we've gone from primarily a cover-2 look with two deep safeties to this look with often a single free safety deep and yet we're still giving up far fewer long passes.

Part of it is that Hamlin has a clue, but a lot of it also is good QB pressure for the first time in forever.

That's what going from Zimmer and the other guy to Wade will do. ;)

I hear what you're saying. I get tired of all these so-called experts talking about how weak we are covering the deep middle of the field when we've maybe given up 2 plays over the top all year. They've obviously not watched any game film of THIS YEAR'S team. Hamlin is doing a GREAT job as a CF back there. Sign him to an extension now.

That Grant TD was on the DL, the LBs, and the Safeties... basically the entire defense. Not just the safeties.

Reading is fundamental.
