this week, neither team has ANYTHING to play for in terms of playoff positioning.
Had the Eagles won today, they would have still been in the thick of things. But realistically speaking, with that loss, they are nearly out it. It should we at least a little bit easier to beat these two teams now that they are close to being eliminated (if not already eliminated) from the playoffs.
The reason I mention this is two-fold,
1. IF we can win the next two games, we get homefield advantage throughout the entire playoffs.
2. Again, IF we can win the next two games, we can finally rest some of our dinged up players versus the Commanders, esp our starters including Henry and T New.
Though the win today was UGLY, it was a HUGE win for us. We win the NFC East, have at least one home playoff game, and finally, it makes it so much easier to win at least 2 of the last 3 games for that extra rest and full homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
