With Brown a FA, is CB on you Round 1 radar

Do you think CB is a position we should be considering with our 1st rounder.

Personally Id prefer bringing in an DT, but Im at the point where I would like to see the CB's projected to go from 20-32 brought in for pre draft visits

I absolutely would.

This is setting up to be a good CB crop. We need to find a real bookend for Diggs. It’s one of the weak spots on our defense.

As the weeks go by and we are figuring out Bland, I inch more and more towards a top end CB prospect. Bland might be a contributor, but I dont think he is #2 or even #3 caliber

For me it’s about the best prospect on the board. If it’s DT, so be it. That said, I definitely would be looking at CB early.

We are 100% on the same page here. Or an O Lineman. I'd even consider a WR who was projected to go higher but fell. Mayer probably long gone. Guy is a stud.

We lost last year because we could move the ball late in the game. SF put up 23 points on us and their HB's averaged 3.5 yards a carry on 28 carries.

Mea while if Brown leaves we are very thin at CB, especially considering Diggs would be the only starting caliber CB on the roster

DT and LBr are still high priority for me, but we’re about to be decimated at the CB due to FA. We need to find a #2.

Maybe not 1 but hopefully 2nd or 3rd ......... we need to move on from a certain 2nd round bust.

Looks like a lot of talented CB and Edge rushers are in abundance in the first half of the draft. DT not so much. my two cents

Yes. The more this season plays out, the more my draft priorities shift.
- I used to think we’d need a guard but now I think they’ll keep Tyron and Peter’s and keep Tyler inside next year
- I used to think LB was sneaky deficient but I think Damone is looking like he will ball out and they may resign LVE, plus hopefully Cox takes a step
- same with DE but Sam Williams is balling

My new draft needs in order: CB, WR (if no OBJ), FS, C, RB (if we lose TP)

Oh sure.

Problem is, CB is no bigger need than OG, or DT. To me all 3 can be considered priority one in 2023.

However, barring an extremely unlikely bargaining by the Cowboys to get 2 more first round picks next year, two of those 3 positions will have to take a back seat in the draft. Not that you can't get very good players in the second and third rounds, in fact that's where the best teams have success. But if you're talking about who to get first, we really need all 3 to be first rounders. But that's not likely to happen, so we need the 2nd and 3rd rounders to be very, very good.

But Jerry's history in those rounds is far from perfect...

I'm always a BPA guy, but CB has to be on the radar in the early rounds. Yes, we struggle stopping the run, but this is still a passing league and you need 3-4 quality corners now. Plus, we need a corner who isn't afraid to help in run support. Most of the yardage we give up is on outside runs, where our corners make business decisions.

If someone like Porter or Ringo fell heck ya lol. I think this year has some really good 2nd rd CB IMO. I'm like you would prefer a DT but our history says its really unlikely we draft one in the 1st.
For some reason, Brown played really well with Lewis not sure why his play has dropped off. Bland shows flashes and hopefully, he gets the playing time and we see a leap into next year. I'm just not so sure about the knucklehead
we have in Joesph seems to me he just doesnt get it.

I think it’s going to be a CB when it’s all said and done. A # of guys that check the boxes of big, fast, and physical guys. Ringo, Porter, Gonzales, and Smith will all probably be gone early. Witherspoon and Jones from A&M can move into 1st round consideration as well.

Brown hurting his foot gives KJ an audition. We'll see what he does with it. IMO, his performance this month determines if we go into the offseason needing a CB for depth or a CB as a starter.
