With T.O. returning so fast, how does this vouch for Henry's toughness?

I don't think you can compare TO's healing/training/work ethic to anyone and have it come out reasonably close. Maybe his original mentor, Rice. Anyone else is going to fall short, and that's not a knock on them as much as praise for TO.

Unless it is the exact same injury and they have the exact same body type I'm not sure how you can compare those injuries.

Different genetics and different position. The CB has to react and is back pedalling. The WR initiates the move and is moving forward, so you can run routes that don't affect the ankle quite as much as reversing momentum so completely. At least IMHO.

Henry is big for a CB too, so he puts more weight on his injury. TO ain't small either, mind you.

Some people just heal faster than others, and like Wade pointed out, some people have a MUCH higher threshhold for pain than others, and I'm not referring to toughness. Pain affects some people more than others. Just the way it is.

I think Henry is plenty tough and don't doubt his willingness to come back at all. He's an aggressive player and a good tackler, willing to stick his nose in constantly.

I don't know TO has healed faster than a lot of players throughout the NFL not just Henry

Henry is made out of glass. Next season he will have another injury that will wipe out half the season.

Another difference between the CB and WR position... The WR is proactive, and the CB is reactive. By the very nature of the positions and the injuries, I would think it generally takes longer for CBs to be effective after suffering the same injury as WRs.

There's also a difference in dispensing punishment and taking punishment.

The recovery time of high ankle injury is from 2 to 8 weeks due to varying type of high ankle injury. Different injuries and different recovery time, no comparison.

If Owens can't go full speed, they just don't throw the ball to him. If Henry can't go full speed, it probably means 6.

Comparing two positions does not work. It's like comparing the time it takes to heal broken fingers on the right hand of a defensive linemen compared to that of most quarterbacks.

The biggest thing is that TO is doing his against the backdrop of a one-and-done playoff game.

Henry was rehabbing in the middle of a season.

If TO had hurt himself mid-season, he'd have taken more time I'm sure. And if Henry had a playoff game coming up, I'm sure he'd play come hell or highwater.

Henry feels T.O.'s pain

Albert Breer E-mail News tips

Cowboys CB Anthony Henry suffered a high right ankle sprain on Sept. 30 against the Rams. He didn't get back on the field for more than a month, returning in Philadelphia on Nov. 4, and did get back in the starting lineup until the Detroit game on Dec. 30.

So he knows just what Terrell Owens has gone through, with his own high left ankle sprain.

"The pain is aggravating, it’s always gonna hurt, mine’s still hurting me right now," Henry said. "He’s definitely been doing a good job treating his, and coming back and being able to play. It’s definitely frustrating knowing that certain plays, you could’ve made, had you been healthy."

If you compare the injuries of the two, Owens coming back this week would be like if Henry came back for the Vikings injury in October. Even returning when he did, the corner says it's taken a while to get it all back, and he didn't really hit his stride until the middle of December.

But even with the limitations he experienced., Henry thinks Owens will be fine.

"It's everything – pushing off, explosion, vertical speed," Henry said. "But he’s been practicing well, he’s doing stuff I couldn’t do three weeks after mine. He’s much further ahead than I was."
