Yeah I know it's early, just week 1. No I have not jumped off the cliff, I'm just addicted.

End of week 1 Dallas firmly has a grasp on the 12th selection. No really, I'm being serious......believe it or not there is no 16 way tie, 8 way tie or 2 way tie. Dallas is the only team that qualifies for the 12th pick. Strange........

Either way, time to play the "if the season ended today" game. For right now there is no preferred top 100 to go by or it's hard to get a decent list so this one and the next couple is up to you and your draft knowledge with out the rules of a list.

Hard core draft geeks only need apply:p:

With the 12th selection in the 2011 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select:

OT Nate Solder from Colorado.....

I watched this kid get abused by Cal last weekend.

Yikes, I'm as pessimistic as they come, but I can't see us drafting anywhere near 12th, but I'll play along.

If we lose Marcus Spears, Stephen Bowen, and Jason Hatcher to free agency (let's face it, who would stay on this team if we are bad enough to finish 12th) we'd have to get D Line here. If we keep 2 of those 3, I say we go with:

Gabe Carimi T 6-7/322 Wisconsin

We'll be picking 25-32.

I prefer Wiz but he'll be gone.

Mike Pouncey C/G Florida.

Then I go Benjamin Ijalana G Villanova 2-3.

I think it's important to get a G with LT feet. Groom him for LG but can play T in a pinch.

If we don't get that I go John Moffitt 2-3 range.

I don't get the Mike Pouncey love. He is basically Andre Gurode the sequel. He can't snap the shotgun to save his life, a staple for us and Florida.

Ijalana is intriguing but I'd like to see him against tougher competition.

I like Moffitt a lot.

Pouncey was horrible the first game. No issues with his shotgun snaps in 2nd game.

Psssst! Center isn't the only position he can play.

I like Moffitt some, but that doesn't seem to be what we look for in a LG, and I don't blame em. Pass happy OC needs athletes vs maulers.

As far Ijalana...........seems like a lot of guys come out of that conference recently.

Wait a year.....Nova football will be in the Big East.

I'll go with DeMarcus Love, OT, Arkansas (currently ranked 8th by NFL Draft Scout). He seems like he might be a little more versatile with the ability to play OT or OG. In the second, I'll go Cameron Jordan, DE, Cal.

DeMarcus Love might be my favorite OL in the draft.

Too bad he won't last til bottom half of first round.

I was basing the pick on the original assumption that the Cowboys were picking 12th. Then again, you never know...not too many people would have thought Dez would have been available to us last year. Perhaps Jerry could arrange for Love to have lunch with Deion.

Mike Pouncey C/G Florida.

got to disagree with your Wiz to being gone by 25

Pouncey Twins never wanted anything to do with them

both are over hyped

I will play

FS/CB Ras-I Dowling Vir 6-2 #200

FS Tyler Sash Iowa 6-1 #210

DE Cameron Heyward Ohio State 6'5" #288

four OTs

Anthney Costanzo BC 8-7 #300 rd 1-2
Demarcus Love Ark 6-5 #315 rd 1-2
Derek Sherrod Miss ST 6-5 #305 rd 2
Clint Boling Georgia 6-5 #315 rd 2

If Wiz is there I take him, pending how he does at Combine/Senior Bowl.

Kris O'Dowd from USC is an injury prone POS.

Jacob Rogers waiting to happen.

Mike Pouncey showed a bit of improvement against South Florida as his snaps were less of an adventure.

There's still plenty of room for improvement before anyone will consider Pouncey as NFL center material.

I think he was saying if the season ended today we have the 12th pick, not that he thinks we will have the 12th pick.

And I agree with you on Carimi. If we were picking at 12 he is who I would want.

We need interior OL help far more than we need help at OT.

You can get those later.

We're an Ed Reed away from having a Ravens/Bucs SB D.

Rahim Moore FS UCLA (Junior).

10 picks as a Sophomore.

Pouncey having issues at center again today. I'd love to go OL, CB, and defensive line in the first three rounds. We can never have enough quality players in the trenches. Don't know if Josh Brent is anything more than just a backup at this point, we'll see as the season goes along. Ideally, we should start looking at a quality nose tackle that can spell Ratliff, since he is on the verge of turning 30. If Buehler absolutely sucks this season, we should draft his replacement in the later rounds too. A lot of quality kickers this year

Don't hold your breath on drafting a NT.
