With the 9th pick in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select...

Can we afford the luxury of drafting a guy like Robert Quinn when we have so many other needs? It would be like having two Demarcus Wares.

And why would that be bad????

or like having a Demarcus Ware and an Anthony Spencer.

I don't think we can afford to spend that pick on Quinn unless something happens with Spencer.

Spencer is a FA after 2011. Is Butler or B. Williams ready to take that spot? In the top 10 you take the guy that will make the most impact on your team.

We need difference makers, not athletes.

On Spencer's best day, he was never a top 10 projection. Quinn is an even greater athletic freak than Julius Peppers. Quinn is stronger and faster.

Nick Fairley > Marcel Dareus all day, all week and twice on Sundays.

I've watched way too many 'Bama games this season, specifically watching how Dareus plays and have been completely underwhelmed.

If we had 2 DeMarcus Ware's, our defense wouldnt have many issues.

Vernon Gholston did pretty well at the combine too. What does Julius Peppers have to do with Quinn? A lot of people are forgetting just how good Spencer's numbers were and how he did at the combine. He was just as productive, if not more so, than Quinn was.

I'm not saying Quinn might not be better, but how does anyone bring up Quinn and Julius Peppers in the same sentence, much less Ware.

Prince mostlikely will be there when we pick than peterson unless prince tears up the combine while peterson doesn't....I know Big IF.

How you feel about us drafting Prince. If it was me I might trade down and try to get another 2nd or 3rd and then take the best offensive lineman avaible but so many offensive lineman bust, with us, that it will be hard to take a first round bust lineman especially in a weak offensive lineman class.

Because Quinn played for UNC, Peppers' alma mater. And Quinn broke the 40 record held by Peppers. Quinn also broke the power clean record at UNC.

Quinn is a physical freak. Spencer is not. Not sure how else I can explain it. Not sure why you bring up the combine, but Spencer ran a 4.7 at the combine and did not really impress at any of the position drills. If anything this weakens your argument b/c Quinn will blow up at the combine. Quinn is just so much more athletic.

As for production, Spencer's best season (his last) he had 10.5 sacks and 26 TFL as well as 5 FF. This was his third season as a starter. Played sparingly his first 2 seasons. The year prior he had 3 sacks. In 2004, he had 7.5 sacks.

As a sophomore and 1st year starter, Quinn had 11 sacks, 19 TKFL and 6 FF. That was his sole season as a starter. He was Dez-esque. Physically he is already bigger and faster than Spencer, with the frame to get bigger & stronger than the 6'5 270 he is already.

I'm not even sure you understand what I'm supposedly arguing, much less if it is strengthened or weakened.

They better not draft him, he's way overrated in my book... Matter of fact their other CB is a better prospect to me. I like the kid Brandon Harris out of Univ. of Miami better as well.

I agree. I'm just not into drafting him. Which means we probably will.

Not sure you even know what you are arguing. You can put Quinn in the same sentence with Ware and Peppers, b/c Quinn has similar athleticism & potential.

Now Spencer obviously does not deserve to be in the same paragraph. Have you grasped the analogy yet?

I can't believe posters on this board were stuck on that. We got our win and a top ten. We can easily move up or down with that pick.

Agreed - it's like the draft ends at #6.

You clearly have no idea what my point it.

Ware and Peppers are pro players. They don't have athletic potential, they have already realized their real NFL potential and are among the best in the game.

You're listing his lift numbers like they have any bearing on his ability to play football.

Ridiculous. All you have to do is look back at my comments, the lift record was in addition to his measurables AND production. YOU asked a question, I answered it. You tried to compare Spencer's combine numbers, not me.

Again, your response is completely inane. I cannot compare a college player's potential to a NFL player because he has not played in the pros yet??? Talk about catch 22. Did Ware & Peppers not have athletic potential when they entered the draft? Really, that is your argument.

Instead of talking about the player you have skewed this argument into a personal one, trying to take potshots at me. What is clear as day is that you have no knowledge of this kid so you try to obfuscate.
