Talk about being the heart and soul of an offense. First TE in NFL history to catch at least 4 balls in every game.

We're lucky to have him.

Witten Is the heart of our offense.

First time I ever saw Romo throw was at Wittens football camp in Jason's hometown. It was Romo's first year. The bond he and Witten have is a definite plus for us.

While I haven't looked it up personally, it seems perfectly reasonable. Most receivers have down games. It's a really amazing feat to catch that many passes in every game of a season.

Besides, most TEs, even the good ones, aren't the central focus of their offenses, so it seems reasonable that even the greats have games where they only catch a pass or two.

You're wrong. Only six players have had at least four catches in all 16 games in a season --

Sterline Sharpe, 1993
Cris Carter, 1995
Herman Moore, 1995
Jimmy Smith, 2001
Marvin Harrison, 2002
Jason Witten, 2009

I knew we were lucky to have him long before Gruden pulled that little nugget out tonight.

He definitely is.

In a generation that is almost universally acknowledged as the all-time best crop of tight ends league wide. Witten gets serious consideration as maybe (definitely in my opinion) the best in the game.

There have been a few players from the last few seasons that I would have been embarrassed for Coach Landry to have seen wearing the star. Witten is one of them that I'd be proud to show off to the Coach (and that I have a sneaking suspicion that he'd have approved of.)

Witten is a model player in every aspect of the game. He has an outstanding work ethic, he never takes a play off, he's intelligent, he's humble, and he's extremely talented in every facet of his position.

I believe he is the best all around tight end to ever play the game...But I might be a little biased as well. :)

Good damn thing Bennett didn't get in his way, otherwise Bennett may have been a Pro Bowler instead of a bust! :lmao2:
