Witten Horsecollared?

Did other people notice Witten get horsecollared on his 1st reception? I don't even remember the announcers saying anything about it. And then I also saw another play get taken down the same way without a penalty in the SF game. Isn't this suppose to be watched and called this year (personal foul 15 yards)? Or is this just reserved for Roy Williams?

Can someone please explain this to me? Did the officials miss something or did I miss something?

I saw it and was also surprised no one said a word. He was plain and simply horsecollered!

Prediction about this rule. It will only draw a flag if someone gets hurt. That alone makes it a joke. If a player tackles someone exactly as Witten was today and he the player is injured so that a flag is thrown it will show this rule to be even more of a joke than we already know it is.

They said it wasn't a horse collar because rather than grabbing Witten by the shoulder pads, the defender grabbed his jersey.

Hence, no horse collar penalty.

But given the speed of the game, how could a bunch of senile refs that are over 50 years old know the difference? Could they clearly see where the tackler's hands were?

My point is that the league office never reviewed where Roy Williams' hands were when he tackled that way...they only looked at the way the opposing player went down.

Either call the penalty fairly or scrap the gawd aweful thing!

I am positive that Parcells will send a videotape of that tackle and non-call to the league office with a letter that simply says "F You".
