ARLINGTON, Texas -- Believe it or not, Dez Bryant isn’t the only Pro Bowl pass catcher on the Dallas Cowboys who occasionally engages in animated discussions on the sidelines.

i

WittenThe Fox cameras caught Jason Witten in an animated conversation with tight ends coach Mike Pope on the sideline after the Cowboys’ touchdown drive in Thursday’s loss to the Eagles.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Probably our lack of adjustments. It was clear right away the Eagles were going to take away the sideline routes and we did nothing to exploit the middle of the field.

i wonder if tony has a limited playbook?

Possibly. It was a while back when we first heard that most of the WRs were going to be asked to do much less this season, suggesting that they were struggling to make the appropriate adjustments in the past. It seemed totally believable with as many "*** happened there" interceptions we've seen.

Did Witten play 100% of the snaps like he normally does? I expect them to cut back his snaps from 100% at some point and I think he will freak out when they do.

But that would mean (gasp) adjusting

We don't do that

yeah i think he was doing that after our drive stalled for a FG when we got the fumble and had 2nd and 1 at the 4 or whatever that was.

See this is what bugs me about our team. Why can't our players make adjustments correctly . Are they not as smart as the rest of the players in the league? It doesn't seem like other teams have to adjust their playbook because the receivers do not understand the adjustments. Is Garret's offense so complex that our receivers get confused (I doubt it). What's the deal with that. It's their job to know what's going on in the game, so are they not studying enough? Are they not intelligent? frustrating

I can only speculate, but offensively and defensively, I have some doubts in regards to some of the best Cowboys players over the best 10 years or so when it comes to retaining knowledge and then applying it quickly when needed. How many times over the past 10 years did we hear the defense had to be dumbed down, yet again? It happened under Parcells. It happened under Wade. It's happened under Garrett.

I don't know, man. Perhaps the Cowboys have fallen for way too many Claiborne's when they should have been falling for more Zack Martin's over the years? I know a very large portion of this fan base would hate it if Dallas became more blue collar, but it sure is funny how much better off the Cowboys appear to be when they take smart and tough over fast and flashy.

Sometimes I think Witten, Dez and Romo should run the offense...

they seem to do better in hurry up mode like back yard football.

that being said, receivers need to learn to read defenses so they can make adjustments for what is going to happen.

dez gonna run his route when there are 10 in the box with an all out blitz is dumb. he needs to make his route a slant when he sees that.
