Honestly I don't know if I am in more shock that they lost or the way they lost.

As for JWit, I can't imagine how he could possibly feel tonight. I'm sure he doesn't feel like the better team won.

Because they didn't.

IMO our team is better than Seattle. Although I'm sad that we lost a great opportunity to get a ring, we're going to be contenders for awhile.

It's nice to say but no way to know. We have a 33-year old TE, a QB coming off of multiple back surgeries, a FA running back who is likely gone, etc. I'm sure 49er fans thought there was no way they wouldn't have another ring given how they had improved so dramatically under Harbaugh.

Now? No ring, no Harbaugh, major questions at QB, massive losses due to FA and injury, etc. in other words, right back to square one. Just like that.

This just makes me sick to my stomach:

http://cowboysblog.***BANNED-URL***/files/2015/01/NS_11COWBOYSPACKERS14_41664193-3.jpg

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten (82) reacts after losing to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional playoff at Lambeau Field in Green Bay Wisconsin, Sunday, January 11, 2015. The Cowboys lost 26-21.

I can understand you. Empathy is a good thing but it should not go that far to make you feel sick.

Maybe a look at Wittens paycheck for 2014 makes you feel better for him again.

Like Parcells said "you think about everything it takes just to get back to this point - offseason workouts, minicamp, training camp, preseason, regular season."

2015 could be radically different than 2014. Sucks.

Its one thing if we had scored on Dez catch, or shortly after........and then G.Bay marches down and scores again to earn the win. Its another to have a coach go for it on 4th down, a maligned QB to throw the perfect ball, Dez to make the great catch, yes catch.........and then some opinion on some grey area ruling to pull it out from them...........Not what the NFL wants to be known for......

Can see why Witten and players have gut wrenching feelings and emotions

Yep...headphones staying in at the office today. I watched every down of football for my team since week 1 preseason, no patience today for a guy who gets the nightly news highlights and then comes to gloat the next day. Go away, I'm grieving.

I think this team can and will be much better next year. It'll take a good year of management and decision making, but I think it can be a lot better.

i agree.

this whole season has felt like the season *before* a special season, you know?

I told more people it felt more like 1991 than 1992.

The defense was never great, and was barely even good enough. Just didn't have a decent pass rush. The defense did a lot with smoke and mirrors, but it wasn't able to get us all the way home.

I thought, if they could win it out this year, they would be in position to repeat for a few years, but to do it this year would be pretty difficult with this defense.

I thought even getting to the Packers, we were playing with house money. I think we were the better team Sunday, but I'm not crying about it. I think this team will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

Hey its tough but that's how the NFL is. Everyone is not meant to get a ring. He did all he could but our team as a whole lost yesterday. Nothing to be ashamed of if you're Witten or these Cowboys. Just simply weren't good enough.

They're not ashamed. Just terribly disappointed.
They were good enough. They just had the game taken away from them. And that makes it even worse.

Well depends on how you look at it. SF went to the NFCCG 3 years in a row and the Super Bowl one of those years. So this would be year one for us. I think you keep the core intact and try again for a couple of more years. If it doesn't happen it just doesn't happen.

NAw they weren't good enough yesterday. They had Aaron down and out and couldn't take advantage. The minute I knew it wasn't meant for us was when Tyrone Crawford tipped Aaron's ball....and the ball fell into the hands of Randall Cobb who he wasn't even throwing it to. When we had Demarco fumble when he had a wide open TD or at the very least a 30 yard run.......it wasn't meant for us to win yesterday.
