On "Around the League" on NFL Network, Alex Flanagan says "Michael Lombardi is reporting that Jason Witten will play tomorrow against the Raiders."

was there ever any doubt?

like Martellus said, he'd play even if he didn't have a foot

Football players play during football season. Way to grunt it out JWit; this is a great example for the youngsters on the team.

This is why Witten is my favorite player on the team.

Hmm, Mosley just said he thinks it's about 60% that he doesn't play. Says Witten *wants* to play, but they might be too concerned that he'll hurt the foot worse.

I believe he played the next week after breaking his jaw.

Tough guy does not surprise me in the least.

If yesterday's reports are true that he could make the injury worse by playing then he should be made to sit. Maybe give him the 1st set of downs so his string of starts won't be interrupted, but then make him sit down.

Witten is one tough SOB and given the choice, I don't think he will take himself out on his own. We need him for the rest of the season, so the coaches need to take charge.

I think he'll play. But I also think Michael Lombardi doesn't have any inside info that any of us doesnt have. Since it's likely he'll play, he can make this "bold claim" and come out looking like he knew all along.

I hope the coaching staff grows some balls and doesn't allow him to play.

Don't leave it up to the player.

Me too just like when the Tuna grew his brass pair after Witten broke his jaw.

Well for what its worth, lombardi was on the field chatting with witten before the game and had his phone out...maybe he has his number for future contact? Not sure.

Either way, we need witten to not only play but play well.

Ha. Kudos to Lombardi for scoring a number ... from a dude. Kidding aside, he's trying to make himself a "Cowboys expert" which is probably pretty wise for his career.

Indeed. Hopefully he will be more truthful than the other hacks that are cowboys experts.

He really is. His first appearance on the ticket was with bad radio and he was real mellow and then Bob Sturm let him know how much he enjoyed reading mikes blog and what an addition he is to the nfl network.

Lombardi immediately perked up and said he could come on anytime. Literally a few days later he has a regular tuesday morning spot with Dunham and Miller.

He really is taking advantage of having information here and like you said I think he is smart enough to realize becoming a source of info in Dallas would be a big deal. Especially when the competittion's cowboys insider is Werder who the fans and apparently the team dislike.

I agree with you. That is one of our deepest positions and if the risk of Witten further injuring his foot outweigh the rewards of him playing, then he should sit because we need a healthy Witten for that Giants game and beyond. They need to be smart about this injury.

Witten is a tough SOB. I really do hope he doesn't play tommorrow. We don't really need him. Same with Jenkins.

Plus getting Martellus some catches could really boost his confidence.
