I really hope we can get RW and Jason Witten signed as soon as possible to long term extensions. I think their salary demands will be high, but could be astronomical if they wait till after Ed Reed and Tony G resign.

Maybe this is what they are waiting for, to get a better feel for the market? Will we have these two signed before the start of the season? Or maybe just one of them and Bradie James who from all accounts has become a locker room leader, as well as mentor to many of our young players. Who would you like for the Boys to sign first?

I know the top dogs are a lock, only a matter of time and how they go about it. James is a different story. I had thought we would make him a fair offer and let him walk if he didn't take it and maybe Burnett could replace him. But now I am not too sure. You can't part ways with a good up and coming player who is a leader in the locker room can you? Burnett hasn't played much but has flashed potential. Hope these questions are answered sooner rather than later.... I hate the offseason!!

Does drafting Fasano help or hurt the chances of resigning Witten? It certainly looks to be an option in case it doesn't get done. Fasano could take receptions away from Wittne and maybe set up a situation like Ellis, where his value is lessened by reduced stats.

Witten has stated a couple times he wants an extension before the season starts, but if it doesn't happen by then, he wants to wait till after the season.

I wouldn't worry about it. We'll get them locked up.

Just a few days ago the Cowboys announced they have begun negotiations re Witten with his agent. I think the plan is to get it done before TC begins; no way do the Cowboys want to wait until season ends cause Witten's too & good to let go & he's also only 24.

I can't help but think the team wants to take advantage of James going into his "contract year" -- they know Williams and Witten are great players -- but this is the year that many guys really take off -- let James really work it for that big contract. Why make him comfortable before we have to?

Brady was impressive last year compared to his first couple years, but can he do it again. If he does, I say offer him a reasonable market rate contract. If he takes it - great, if not we look elsewhere (IE Burnet, draft, FA)

Witten - sign him up now and don't allow him to test the market.

Roy is the one that scares me. This is probably a minority opinion, but I don't want to break the bank at the SS posistion. Don't get me wrong, Roy is a beast "if" used correctly, but he's going to want a ton of money and SS just isn't the most important positions. If he stays for market value that would be great, but I don't don't see it being reasonable. I hope I'm wrong
