WM Phoenix Open

Anyone watching? This is one my favorite non-major tourneys of the year. Its hard not to notice ESPN plugging the bejeezus out of the Koepka group adding to the usual drama. They have 2 dedicated live feeds for his group. He's literally getting the Tiger treatment.

Unfortunatetly for him, LIV golf has rotted his short game. They just don't have the same diffuculty in the course set-ups, and he's playing that municipal level junk for 4 years. Dude was last in putting at the Farmers a week ago among those who made the cut, and he was dead last in putting in the first round yesterday. He's only drained 1 putt longer than 10 ft in almost 6 rounds of golf so far in his return to the tour. Its gonna be a long road back to the top.

My son is into golf and is watching it. Sponsors name doesnt do it any favors - hard to get excited over waste management!

He's been giving me a ribbing over Gotterup. A couple of years ago I said "who's he ?.........never heard of him, he mustnt be any good.. ". My son said he would be one of the next big names. Looks like he was right!

If he would have just shot 1 or 2 under on day 1, he wins comfortably this week

Crazy he finished 1 shot away in a week where he didn't have anywhere near his best stuff. Great tournament always a blast to watch

The WM is one of the best stops on the PGA tour. Its known most of all for the stadium they built around the 16th hole and the rowdy fans who fill it. Its like nothing else in golf.

Gotterup came on late last season and looks to be the hottest player on tour this year so far. It remains to be seen if he becomes the next Sheffler or Max Homa who had a hot run before losing his game and dropping back in the pack. Golfers are measured on performance in majors and it remains to be seen if he can win one.
