Sad for this Country when this is not immediately thrown out of court and laughed at.

Next people will be suing Mcdonalds for making them fat.

Oh.. wait.

Or the hot coffee burns someone when spilled in their lap. That one still amazes me.

There's more to that story than you might guess.

There's a huge loophole in this great Country's legal system when people can continually profit from being stupid. This reminds me of the idiot last year that sued and won because she set her "cruise control" on her Winnebago and wrecked because she freaking went in the back expecting the vehicle to drive itself.

I have to applaud google for trying to thin the herd of dumb people. Too bad it did not work. <evil grin>

What's worse....her suing, the lawyer for taking the case or the judge that didn't throw the case out? :banghead:

You left out the jury of her peers that can't get out of jury duty and will award her with more than $100,000 because they have less common sense than she does.

It should have never gotten that far.

Yeah, even though I got it off of a reputable site, I just checked it on Snopes and it looks like it was indeed an urban legend that has recirculated over the years. That at least makes me feel a little better!

The way I heard it was a guy set the cruise and went in the back to make a sammich. :laugh2:

Even so, that does not excuse the actions of some jurors. Just because they get a case like this does not mean they have to side with her, if it comes to that.

It didn't go to jury. As far as I can tell, they've only filed the lawsuit. The judge could throw it out, but it takes time for that to happen.

I know it hasn't reached that point yet. Just adding in that jurors could be involved at some point and have a say in this matter. It is easy to blame just the lawyers and judges, but there are regular people involved in cases at times and those regular people sometimes make bad decisions.

Hopefully a judge with some sense throws it out but I doubt it.
