Won My First Jury Trial

In most civil cases, you only have to have 10 to have a verdict. Criminal cases have to be unanimous to convict.

Yeah that doesn't sound right. This was my first jury trial, and we won. So I'm 1-0... undefeated

Started Tuesday, finished up Friday. It was a child custody case. The jury was out deliberating for almost 5 hours. I thought I was going to go crazy waiting. It ended up being an 11-1 decision.

It was a pretty awesome feeling hearing that verdict read in court.

lol But without knowing the case, how do we know if you did the right thing or just did the right thing for your client? There can be a giant difference (see OJ). I promise, I'm not trying to be a jerk...it just raises the question. Example: What if a great father who lost his job and got left by his wife now also does not get to see his kids due to this case? I'm only partially kidding.

In any case, it sound like you did you job...so congrats!

No really, both sides are going to get to see the child a lot. She just gets to live with my client.
