Wonder what they were saying about Tyler Smith a year ago?

I remember people saying that he was a penalty machine, and would only make yellow flags a bigger problem for our offense.
I haven't looked up stats on this, but I think that for a rookie he performed very well without to many holding, jumping offsides, etc. calls.
I'll go out on a limb and say he's a keeper.
He led the league in holding penalties.

Its unbelievable how bad they are in the 2nd round.
Diggs, Williams, Awuzie, Gregory, Lawrence, Carter, Lee... seeing a lot of guys there who at worst got decent 2nd contracts. Every team misses, you just aren't paying close attention to them.

Remember all of the angst over taking Yosemite in the 1st?

Lost was the fact he was the smartest player in the draft and the Joneses had inside info from his college coach, Bret Bielema.

I liked Parcells view of the draft and this whole 1st round over emphasis. Doesn’t matter where you take your target players, only that you take them.

Lol…..you cant be serious. Your not supposed to whiff every other year. And when they whiff, the guy can barely play.

Gregory, hill, bubba fat. Lol

Thats just plain bad.

Wrong again. Donovan Smith led in holding penalties and Laremy Tunsil let in false starts. Tyler was 5th overall in penalties tied with several others with 11. Not horrible for a rookie.

Smith was the best rookie OL in last year’s draft.

He had a few penalties, like we thought he would… but I remember seeing him stonewall Vita Vea in his very first NFL Game ever. He just dug his feet in and, stopped Vea dead in his tracks.

I was like, Woah… I think we have something here.

He’s special. Throw in his take no prisoners attitude and he’s just what you want on the OL.
Plus, he's a good person and a smart kid. It really goes a long way, because he just puts his head down and works. He knows about earning it.

He had 4 penalties that weren't accepted. He led the league in holding penalties with 10. If you got that off of PFR, they attributed one of the holding penalties to Tyron instead of Tyler. Can't remember which game but it was prior to Tyron's return. Edit- it was week 5, 2:18 of the 1st quarter. They attribute one of Tyler's holds to Tyron in the game log.

Tyler also had the most flags against.
