Half the guys don't take that Wonderlic crap serious...

If you go to the combine and there is a test that the teams are paying for you to take you'd have to be an idiot to think it wasn't important.

It is a TIMED test. The questions aren't hard but you have to answer them very quickly.

im aware its timed but it shouldnt take 6 minutes to be able to answer 5 questions right. im very aware of how a time factor increases anxiety significantly but even a second grader knows to answer the easier questions first.

yeah thats true but every year there are guys that just dont.

those times that jarrett ran are just shameful. urlacher went to one of those speed schools and increased his time by .2. Looks like jarrett just didnt care.

Not at all -- I see college students every year who are entrenched in test taking approaches where they start at #1, then go to #2, and never deviate at all -- hard question? they get stuck and waste time and only realize when it is too late to move on. These are smart kids too - many go on to great graduate programs.

Man it's all about what you do on the football field... Dewayne Jarrett was one of the best WR's in college football for like three years! I'd take him on the Cowboys!

College football and the NFL are two different beasts. I would take Meacham, Ginn, and Bowe over Jarrett. (Not in that order, Bowe first)

I think players USED to not take it serious. Last few years though, emphasis is being put on smart players. I doubt you really see a guy anymore who goes in and does eenie-meenie-miney-mo to select his answers. Players are aware of what is at stake and I would say that A LOT of guys take it serious.

And sometimes off it. I think Pacman Jones scored a 12 or 13.

i am proof that this test is a product of too many nfl insiders with too much time on their hands.

this test doesn't matter for a lick.

Anyone who can't see how a Wonderlic test may be relavant to an individual's NFL potential would probably score a 4 also.

Wonderlic's don't mean everything (Henson had a 42 I believe, that went well), but to score a 4 is definitely frightning.

I don't need my propsects being able to recite the periodic table for me and building rocket engines out of common household items but I at least want them to be able to open doors marked 'PULL' without having to ask a passerby how to get in and buy a Slurpee.

Not the 'be all and end all' - just another tangible for teams to use to mess up their picks!!!

I don't want to be rude (they're out there on the net- go try for yourselves) but people on this board would fly effortlessly through these questions. To get a single digit score, you must really have a brain constructed from mdf!!

Blalock: I would be happy with, but if so I'd like to trade down a little and pick up an extra pick....... oh no! Spells disaster!

And to think. Out of all the years the wonderlic has been given, Vince Young is now the only example. Hes the exception, not the rule.

I suspect he will make a solid lineman; (probably a guard) just not a dominating tackle. Kyle Kosier anybody? :)
Kosier? Have you really even seen Blalock play? If Kosier had anywhere near the athletic talent Blalock has, he would be a perennial Pro-Bowler. Blalock can be a solid OT but an All-Pro OG, he's that good......

Yeah, but I'd have to sweeten the pot for that to realistically have a chance to go through. Probably would have to throw in a 4th. Btw, nice pick-up w/ your first pick in the 2nd round. :) To have Blalock & Robison would be excellent for the 'Boys!
