Woods battling to make team?

I remember thinking this kid was going to be very good, but KFFL blurb makes it sound like he might not even make the team...anyone seen him play?

SF49ers.com reports San Francisco 49ers WR Rashaun Woods will see a lot of playing time Thursday, Sept. 2, against the San Diego Chargers. Woods is battling for one of the team's final wide receiver spots.

Have to say this surprises me...I know he was not a burner but I thought he could be a heck of a possesion WR.

Maybe it is just rookie jitters and the idea that it takes WRs some time to get used to the WCO.

If he is cut...then I would think there would be plenty of teams that would put in a claim for him...starting with the Cards with their WR situation/injuries right now.

BP, I don't think Erickson is running the wco in SF.

Speaking of receivers (and a much more experienced one) not getting the wco, that's what I hear about Gallowaste.

I honestly have no clue what he was running in SF....I remember saying they wanted more of a vertical game going into last season I just figured they would add some more down the field throws in the WCO.

I just checked all of SF's boxcsocres...Woods has ZERO catches...dont know how much he's played (if any) but he doesnt have a catch

I'm gonna post this is the Cowboy area, anyone know if a 1st rd pick has ever been cut before the regular season starts?

I seriously doubt they will cut their first rounder. If they do, someone will definitely grab him. I think the Eagles would even be interested, I mean he can't be any worse than McMullen.
