I just got back to my hotel room after my first ever visit to Texas Stadium!!! WOOHOOO! It took me 40 years to get to Texas Stadium, but I finally made it! And the Cowboys won, to boot. I kept waiting for Romo to throw the fade to TO and it finally happened in the 4th quarter. Great great game and a fun fun time!!

Awesome man! truly awesome. I've been there a couple of times. The feeling of being there was breathtaking and surreal both times. I'm glad you made it before they moved into the new one, ;)

Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving, congrats.
I'm going to do my best to get to Texas stadium next year (when incidently, I'll be 40) to see my beloved Cowboys for the first time.

How eerie, I'm 40 and have been a rabid 'boys fan since watching them beat the Dolphins in the Super Bowl. I've never been to a game and I'm hoping to get to TX stadium before the end of next season. But I have one major roadblock. I live in Germany, stationed in Heidelberg with the US Army Europe. I'm hoping I get there, I'll try, but I'm afraid tickets will be impossible. Thanksgiving next year, only a dream for now. We'll see. Wish me luck!

Talk about eerie..I am in the USAF, have been for 22 years. I was born in Del Rio and grew up in Fort Worth. Never ever made it to a Cowboys game until yesterday even though I lived so close growing up. Finally made it back to Texas (San Angelo) in 2005. My family and I decided to meet here in Dallas to have Thanksgiving together this year. I started talking (jokingly!) about getting tickets to the game, but never really thought about it. My dad and mom told me I would regret it if I did not go. So my wife and I bought tickets and the rest is history!! Man, that was fun!

I guess my impressions of the visit were a little skewed by the fact that I was just in awe of actually being in TEXAS STADIUM! I kept looking over to my wife and saying "I'm in Texas FREAKING Stadium!" I said that like every 5 minutes during the first half!! It seemed like the game goes so much faster when you are there in person. The atmosphere is/was electric and just surreal. I noticed the players looked bigger in person than they seem on TV.

As far as the game went, I noticed that (with the exception of a few plays) Hamlin was playing about 20 yards deep. Never noticed that on TV. Witten was open quite a bit. On the interception (which was in the end zone where I was sitting) he looked really open to me! Barber was even more impressive to watch in person than on TV...the first hit would not bring him down. The Jets kept dropping 2 safties deep on almost every play. The Newman interception was AWESOME to watch. From where I was sitting I saw it coming when Clemens released the ball...BAM, ZIP, and gone to the house. The only person within 10 yards of him was Ware!

Well, those were just some thoughts I had. Sorry for not posting a more analytical breakdown. I was just having fun soaking in the atmosphere! GREAT GREAT TIME! :laugh2:

I forgot to mention that I grew up in San Antonio.

When I first started watching the 'boys, the Spurs (not in existence yet) and Cowboys had a combined 0 championships. Now with the run the Spurs are on, and one hopefully the Cowboys will join, they have a combined 9 championships!!!!!

I'm so lucky!!! Only, not lucky enough to have gone to a game yet.

Best wishes to others on the pilgrimage!

I live in Toronto and can tell you the Cowboys have a monster following in this city. I am getting hitched next year, but still plan to make it to the mecca of football during the '08 season...maybe even incorporating the trip into my stag. Anyone have any suggestions on hotels?

Hey old man... I grew up a Spurs fan with Billy Paultz, James Silas and George Gervin...

I am a Mavs fan too as lived in Dallas in the early days...

Those Spurs teams were a hair away from winning it all...
