This should not surprise anyone.

It would surprise me a little bit. I think the Titans made out pretty well in that trade. They could turn it into a lot of great players. Why give a majority of that up?

If the Titans think Tunsil is the best tackle in the draft, by a wide margin, I guess the Titans could justify it by saying we got the player we wanted and got some bonus picks to boot. But if they viewed it that way they probably wouldn't have risked losing him in the first place in a trade down.

If they grade Stanley close to the grade they have on Tunsil, then they may trade back up for Stanley for reduced compensation. My guess is thatthey have Tunsil and Stanley and maybe another OT pretty close together and are hoping one of them falls a little bit.

If they really, really love Tunsil, I'm not sure why they would trade down that far since really most of the teams in the top 10 (other than Dallas, and maybe Cleveland ) really need an OT.

Titans get #4 and #101

Cowboys get 15, 43, 45 and # 64

Don't know if the numbers would work but this option doesn't seem steep to move up 9 spots to grab your LT (Tunsil) or hometown kid in Ramsey

It would still be more than they'd pay, I think. That's well over value.
But the idea makes sense. The idea also makes sense if they want to get Stanley in the 8-11 range but pay less. Guess it depends if they think the LT they took recently.

I don't think it's so ridiculous. Look at it this way:

The Titans want to jump back to #4 and have us move to #15. So we're willing to let them get to #4 AND retain the #33 pick? Aw heck naw!

I'd ask for #33 and the lowest of their second round pick #45.

That would still give the Titans (1) #15, (2) #43, (3) #64 and #67. They get Tunsil and then have three other picks within the Top 100 to build their roster.

If they wouldn't agree to give up their two No. 2 picks, I'd hang up in their faces.

He said they would pay us the 15th PLUS two 2nds PLUS next years 1st?
Maybe if you drop the "next year's 1st" part you get somewhat close to value. Even then , they may want our 4th.
But the next year's 1st part makes a huge difference.

You could probably get one of the following...

1st, 2nd and 3rd

or

1st, two 2nds.

I doubt they give up next years one but you never know.

But they should have to overpay if someone is sitting there that the cowboys really like (like Ramsey).

There's a slim-to-none chance that they'd give up the 2017 1st round pick. But I like the two No. 2s option. That's the only way I'd trade down.

Yes because they have three...they could still have their highest 2nd round pick.

Oh, I agree.

But he was saying the two 2s PLUS next year's 1st. That was over the top

You caught me before I deleted the post. I reread your post and discovered I TOTALLY missed the first round pick for 2017. My response didn't make sense once I considered what you really were saying so I deleted it.

My bad.

Yes I would do that and than take Paxton Lynch at #15 and 2nd Round three Players: DE, Secondary Player (Karl Joseph), RB and a WR

My thinking is #15 and two 2nd Rounders

They need to stay ahead of Baltimore, who apparently covets Stanley but if Tunsil is sitting there.............

Paxton Lynch at #15 than DE, Secondary and either RB or WR

How do the numbers work out in the Draft Trade Value Chart? I am at work and I can't access any of those links.

Swapping first round picks, picking up a 2nd + possibly another pick would be sweet. The 2nd and 3rd round has plenty of talent, this is a deep draft. Would love to see us draft Lynch at 15!!!

I think fair compensation would be their 1st and both 2nds. That might be more than they are willing to pay to move up. Dropping 11 spots from #4 overall is a lot though.

I wouldn't criticize the Cowboys if they could get this years first, a second and another 3rd or 4th out of them. That is the meat of this particular draft.

I need more than that to drop 11 spots.

They do need to draft up into the top 5 because Tunsil is coveted by the Ravens and Stanley is apparently high on the Giants list. It's said that the difference between 3 is significant so if they are thinking to protect the franchise, then it's possible that they might pay for it. They got Mariota hurt last year. You don't want another few seasons like that if you want to develop him.

Yep. If Tennessee is thinking Stanley might slide all the way to 15, they are probably smoking crack. Frankly, Conklin could be gone by 15 as well. So that would leave a guy like Decker at 15. Not sure that would move the needle for Tennessee.
