At least you didn't have to sweat it out on the 6th guess, all you had to do is switch the positions of the yellow letters from the 5th guess. We know the 5th guess, but I think I narrowed down the 1st guess.
1st: SPACE or PLACE?
5th: CARET

Yeah those puzzles get me as well. :confused:
Once the letter becomes green, I mentally put that letter in the back of my mind. But after eliminating all possibilities, I start double checking the green letters for possible words.

Looks like your third guess might be my second guess. My second guess yesterday was ALONG. Maybe yours was ALONG, but ALONE fits too. Whatever it was, it helped. ;)
