Just spitballin. Re-watch Jimmy's monologue that launched this whole new drama.

https://www.foxsports.com/watch/fmc-6bq5eq3lo1lo26ei

Notice he not only introduces us all to this whole new prospect of Schottenheimer being part of the new administration. He also keeps fuel to the flame for Kellen Moore.

Could it be that Schottenheimer is actually playing a role to allow some expedited hiring of Kellen Moore as soon as he becomes available? Could it be that this whole thing is a workaround, that the Joneses aren't allowed to have contact with KM at the moment, but that's them. Moore's former colleague is still here, and he's able to play middle man so that information can be exchanged technically legally where the league is concerned. Joneses can't talk directly with Moore, but Schottenheimer can.

That's where I am. There is no other way really I can imagine to explain the second full day of discussion w/ Schottenheimer.

No, I think Moore politely declined and they moved to the next cheapest option.

Notice that no one was talking about Schotty until this moment from Jimmy, which happened following Moore's short interview after which we heard nothing positive at all.

I think they had Moore as option 1, and moved to Schotty as option 2 when that didn't materialize.

I don't think there's any world Schotty and Moore are on same staff. Both want to call plays.

Wouldn't surprise me that KM goes to Jacksonville or Las Vegas and then JJ hires Witten as HC with Schot as OC. Or JJ hires Kingsbury as HC and makes him hires Witten, Ware and a couple of other former players as coaches with some underrated DC like the guy under Harbaugh with Chargers.

It will be interesting to me if there will ever be confirmation of Kellen Moore declining Jerry Jones' offer. Moore is fully aware of the pros and cons of working for Jones. It would be notable if Moore's flight instinct automatically kicking in, instead of following an internal impulse to fight for this particular head coaching opportunity.

To be fair, it doesn't matter: Moore or Schottenheimer just maintains Jerry's overall interference, will do as they're told (and do it on miminal wage).

I don't think Moore declined. There was really nothing to decline. According to the tweet (or whatever it is called these days) they didn't even speak for the full 3 hours. Moore wouldn't have consented to an interview if he wasn't interested in the position and I doubt they got as far as contract discussions in a short video call without Moore's agent.

Yeah if they truly ended the interview early they didnt get to any offer. Most likely there was a disagreement that would have been a deal breaker for at least one side so they decided not to waste any more time. Could have been anything...Moore wanted to bring a coach with him from Philly Jerry doesnt like, Moore wants to pick his own staff without Jerrys help, Moore wants assurance they'll spend on upgrading the offense but Jerry wont commit, etc.

This was all setup by Jimmy and Jerry. How would Jimmy even know that they were considering Schotty? His not an insider but he is with Jerry. So he went on national TV for his old pal Jerry to spread the word.

it's possible kellen moore flunked the interview...and that these other coaches had no interest in jerry's "staff recommendations".
to me it looks like schottemheimer is the only one willing to take this gig.
we'll see.

I like the idea that Moore somehow did “not” decline if there was a portion of negotiation that was a deal breaker. It sounds like Moore politely spoke with Jerry and Stephen as a courtesy.

He likely told them that perhaps he would be interested in the job in the future, or that he felt the team needed a hard reset (get rid of Dak, let the team be bad for a few years, no Witten on the staff, etc). Moore would already know what sorts of demands would be deal breakers and just did them a courtesy in a short interview. I’ve done similar things just for the potential of future agreements or work. Never a bad thing to talk shop with your peers.

It shows that the Cowboys are likely out of real options. I think the coaches that are willing to be the HC here realize they are likely going to get replaced unless they start going deep into the playoffs within 1-2 seasons. You need a very special “guy” to fulfill a role like that.

Let me get this straight, we want Howdy Doody Jr., KM to be our HC? Is it because, we want him or he's the lesser of two or three evils?

They said on podcast with Clarence Hill Jr, Ed Werder and I forgot the other guys names- that KM interview didnt even take up the entire 3 hrs. Also hear Werder say say the vibe is Moore wanted to the job more than Dallas wanted to give it to him. But I think KM might have declined some of these Jerry/Stephen isms of having certain people on staff or even money factor. Bc all of a sudden Brian S. came out of the blue. I am sure he would be a cheaper option and since he has never been a HC nor would he be if this Dallas circus wasnt going on - he is going to be more willing to accept their terms. Kellen has two second interviews but yet we dont have a second one planned which is odd bc they have to the Rooney rule interviews scheduled and then had Moore slide in for the first interview, which made it feel like they wanted to prioritize Moore first, and get the other interviews out the way then here comes Brian S. from left field.

This board cant keep its head on straight...just flip flop whenever it makes the most shock value...

All these posts about Jerry and his ways...

Didnt LeBron tell yall...never take a pay cut for the team, because the Owner can stab you in the back and not use the funds properly.

Now all yall's eyes are open, or are just milking things with lies for money.

You cant make sense of it
