Worst 7-3 Team

Is there any question that our Dallas Cowboys are the worst 7 and 3 team in the NFL? Would any one be surprised if this team goes 2-4 the rest of the way ends up at 9-7 and does not make the playoffs? For those who dislike Wade, that would put a fork in his Dallas career.
Let's see. We can definitely lose at NY, at Washington, at N.O. and at home to San Diego and if we beat Oakland and Philly, you have a 9-7 season.

Am I missing something here?

lets just all kill ourselves

Do you know how long it has been since Oakland won a road game???

Yea they beat the Eagles and the Bengals at the Black Hole, but this game is going to be a road game for them.

Honestly, I think it has been like 2 yrs since Oakland won a road game. I seriously cannot remember the last time that Oakland beat a team with a winning record on the road.

We are probably talking 2 or 3 seasons probably.

I think we should beat them as well, but I just don't wanna jinx this thing by talking smack too soon. I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.

I think because we are Cowboy fans and focus our attention primarily on the Cowboys we tend to overstate Cowboy issues and forget other teams have issues as well. Folks, as frustrating as the team can be, we aren't the only team that has problems.

Who really cares. I'll happily be the worst 7-3 team in the league. I'll be fine with 'weakest Superbowl winning team ever,' too, if you feel the need to ask at some point in the future.

There's still a lot of football left, and you can pretty much guarantee that the NFC Championship *won't* be MIN and NO. Somebody who's under the radar now is going to get hot, and somebody who's looking really good right now is going to fall apart completely before it's all said and done.

grow a pair man. Yeah.. we all know our history.. but why not try and be positive. Things can change. Every game on our sched is winnable.

That is very possible...especially if the Offense plays like they have the past two weeks.
To be a nerd, I'll apply these probabilities:
1% 7-9
10% 8-8
30% 9-7 (so that is pretty high)
60% 10-6 (most likely, but hoping for better)
40% 11-5 (I think this is very possible)
15% 12-4
5% 13-3

:D :D :D

As someone else just posted, the Bengals lost to Oakland and Pittsburgh lost to Kansas City. The Eagles lost to Oakland a few weeks ago. Hey, it happens. We get our offense rolling again, we'll be O.K. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Freak games do happen. The Bengals dominated their game but had four huge turnovers...including a fumble that gave Oakland the win in OT. You never know in this league....

By the way, I don't think a team in the league could run the table on our last fiver games and most or all of the very best teams would lose two games. Our Dec/Jan schedule is always rough and gets overlooked when small-minded sports radio folks discuss the past records in that time-frame. There has been poor play but multiple back-to-back rough games do play some roll in that.

That's a good point. At least the Cowboys have managed to win some games in which their offense wasn't clicking.

And the defense is playing well, looking better than they have in years.

It wasn't that long ago that the Cowboys defense, especially their defensive backfield, just couldn't be trusted in crunch time. Remember Mark Brunell and Santana Moss in 2005?

Seems taht things change so much from week to week in terms of monemtum I wouldn't think it matters. However, there is no doubt that we need to be playing better offensive football from today forward.

One team that is getting hot is Tennessee. They have been sparked by the play of the suddenly mature Vince Young. He played a great game last night. What makes it more frustrating is to watch how their offense uses the best of this scrambling quarterback while our offense is so plain vanilla an ice cream truck driver could figure out our next moves. Our quarterback is at his best when he is moving not sitting in the pocket waiting for his receivers to get separation. Which they seem to fail to do except when he is running around in the backfield ducking and jiving tacklers.
Why not put that ability into a planned course of action. Fast hitting plays that move Romo around the backfield.

They have a VERY creative OC in Heimledinger (sp?)

If you are going to try to compare us to other teams from the last two years, compare us to ourselves the last two years.
You can compare us to those teams. I'll compare us to the better ones. It's just a comparison. It doesn't mean anything. This team isn't bound by the failures of the past, and they're not necessarily going to reproduce the successes of the other teams. They are their own team, and odds are, they'll have their very own fate.

But what do you think is going to happen???

11-5 losing Both vs New Orleans & San Diego. Hitting the playoffs on a 2 game winning streak vs division rivals as the NFC East Champs.
