It's because most fans (not just Cowboys fans) fall into the reactionary crowd. The Saints blow us out, they're the team to beat. The Seahawks blow out the Saints, they're the team to beat. The 49ers beat the Seahawks and it looks like the Saints are going to beat the Panthers, now the Saints are the "it" team again. Eagles win, Eagles win the division, season's over, negative posters churn the post counts. Cowboys beat the Bears tomorrow night, Cowboys will win the division! Cowboys lose tomorrow night, season's over. Some fans live on extremes.
I actually (not just saying this, I'm being completely sincere) feel sorry for the Cowboys fans who are so miserable they cannot enjoy any part of a season that does not involve winning a Super Bowl. It's really easy to point out negatives about the team, but it is really sad how many people are so miserable that the thought of anyone else enjoying a Cowboys game infuriates them to such a degree that they post the same player/coach/owner hate over and over again.
This team is not a Super Bowl caliber team, but so what? It's too late to fix anything for this season. You really only have two options if you want to enjoy the rest of the NFL season .. either stop watching or continuing supporting the team knowing the expectations are low this year.
