Poor Campo. How could any coach have success with Quincy Carter as a starting QB. Those were awful years to be a fan of this team.

That said, Wade is just horrible. He is a puppet nothing more.

Poor Campo? Might I remind you that Parcells took the team to the playoffs with Carter at QB?

Wade Phillips, and it isnt close. Switzer, for all his faults, still won a championship. Gailey was hindered by a team in slaray cap hell. Campo coached 3 of the least talented teams in Cowboys history and never had a chance. Parcells brought in the talent to make us competative again.

Wade has taken one of the most talented teams in football and done absolutely nothing

Wade Phillips

Wade Phillips has the most talent with little results and at least has some input on the Draft.

Dave Campo had the worst talent, had no input on player personnel and was a victim of GM Jerry.

Don't give Campo that much credit. Parcells took the same talent to the playoffs in his first year.

Campo had to deal with salary cap problems, and also Larry Lacewell.

I'm not too sure about their finances back then, but are you telling me they had salary cap problems, but then Bill Parcells got signed next year and they were back in the saddle again as far as cap goes? In my books, best to worst is Parcells, Switzer, Chan or Wade, then Campo.

True, but Bill Parcells had alot more control than Dave Campo did.

That makes a ton of difference when you are trying to hold guys accountable.

A good argument can be made that any coach would've failed in the situation Dave Campo was put in.

The same holds true now with Wade. What coach isnt at a disadvantage when the owner is the only authority figure that counts?

Disclaimer: I am not defending Wade, I hate him.

I still think Wade Phillips is a better coach than Chan Gailey. Not sure, but it's gut instinct.

myo it was switzer because he lost with hall of fame talent. Campo and Gailey were close but the talent level dropped off markedly after Aikman retired.

Any vote other than Campo is seriously all about bitterness.

Wade Phillips would have had us picking #1 overall in at least two of the 3 years Campo was here. Campo had almost NOTHING to work with. To go along with some of the least talented teams in Cowboys history, he had Jerry Jones at the height of his power binge (2 #1s for Galloway? Quincy Carter?), Larry Lacewell, cap problems, etc.

Fate tried to hand Wade Phillips a superbowl title in '07 and '08, but he said "No thanks" and went back to being the jolly fat guy who the players like because he isnt tough on them

Only because the '03 Cowboys played one of the easiest schedules in NFL history. We went 6-10 the next year, remember?

True, but Wade Phillips has a little more say so than Campo ever had. Especially with respect to Defensive Personnel.

Also, Dave Campo was horribly saddled with big time contracts given to players that had performed in the past but weren't getting it done any longer.

The Organization was a complete mess when Dave Campo was Head Coach and it alot to do with Campo.

However, Wade Philliips, much like Norv Turner with the Chargers, was handed an extremely talented football team and he has nothing to show for it.

The way the Cowboys played today was very shocking. I am happy we won but Kansas City is an extremely poor team that rotates guys off the street every week and we needed overtime to beat them.

Wade Philliips is so bad that I really feel he could get fired before the Season is over with.

I'd order them from worst to best as:

Gailey
Campo
Switzer
Wade
Parcells

Also it's not uncommon for a new coach to come in and the team makes an improvement for one season before going back to what they were. See Mangini, Parcells, and Wade Phillips. And that's just off the top of my head.

...because our QB tested positive for drugs, and had to be replaced with vinny testaverde just before the season started.

That was a huge set back, even thought it was Quincy ****ing Carter.

Anyone who would take Campo over Phillips right now, is drunk as a skunk.
