16. Dallas Cowboys -- Alabama ILB C.J. Mosley

The Cowboys plan to move incumbent Mike 'backer Sean Lee to Will in an effort to task Lee with fewer physically challenging situations and preserve his health. He's missed 15 games over the past two years. Bruce Carter will move to Sam. Mosley is a middle linebacker through and through with sideline-to-sideline range, powerful hands, and plus pass-coverage skills. Mosley would solidify the second level of Dallas' defense, which was the most porous in football last season.

Its not going to happen.....but its really not a bad idea. Lee is an ideal WIL and we need an upgrade there.

if all of the d-lineman that we have as a first round grade are gone then linebacker would be a great pick for us. In the tampa-2 defense you need two linebackers that can cover and play the run well like the bears had in briggs and urlacher. we do not have that now. mosley might fall into the middle twenties. if so maybe we can trade down and get him there and pickup and extra third and maybe a sixth round pick.

I have thought this exact thing and talked to a few friends about it, but Mosley is the only guy I would even consider in this scenario (from the draft)...there aren't a lot of terrific ILB out there in this draft

Um, it's really not that crazy. Lee would be a beast as a Will, and LB is a need.

I don't think they'll draft a LB in round 1. They feel like DT (3-tech), DE, CB, and maybe safety are worth first round picks on that side of the ball. They won't draft a corner, and have said they like their safeties so I'd say if they go defense in round 1 it will either be a 3-tech or a DE.

I think they feel that they can find a viable LB candidate for this defense in rounds 2-7.

JMO though.
