Of all the opponents the Cowboys have ever faced, can you recall any that were really bad, not that good, and couldn't do anything against the Boys in a game?

The one I think of is a game in 1992, where the soon-to-be champs faced a bad Seattle team.

Seattle went 2-14, tied for the worst record, and had no talent.

They were held to 62 total yards when they faced the Cowboys. (54 of those were in the first quarter)

They were that bad, and against a Dallas team that good, you'll never see a team look so awful.

Tampa in '06(the T-Giving game)-they weren't BAD, per se, but they just had a rash of injuries on both sides of the ball, and they were coming off a short week to boot. It felt like they were getting players off OTHER teams' practice squads to start that day.

In the 1981 season, the Cowboys played all the teams from the AFC East (except for the Jets). The Cowboys would win convincingly over the Bills 27-14, and a wild comeback game against the Dolphins 28-27.

However, two of the other teams in that division were the Colt and Patriots. Both of those teams ended up in the cellar at 2-14. They were absolutely horrible. In fact, the only team the Colts beat the season were the Patriots...

...Twice!

The Monday after the final week of the season, when the Colts beat teh Pats for the second time, giving New England the #1 overall pick in the 1982 draft (Keith Simms), the Boston Herald American had 28 hands gesturing the #1 sign. The headline, in 3-inch bold letters stated:

"WOW, WE'RE #28!!!"

I kept that paper until my parents house burnt to the ground in 1991.

Anyway, the Cowboys would go on to beat the Patriots 35-21 on Monday Night (Week 3). Dorsett had that classic 75-yard touchdown run that you see on the tube every now and again.

In early December, the Cowboys would go on to dominate the bewildered Colts 38-13. I believe Dorsett had over 150 yards rushing that game as well.

I think the original poster was referring to the actual horrid teams. Not so much good teams on bad days.

I was mad when Seattle scored a late touchdown to avoid the shutout on Thanksgiving of 1980. Otherwise, it would have been 51-0.

The 59-14 thrashing of the 49ers would be the last win over them until the 1992 NFC Championship game some twelve years later.

I was thinking late 1960's Eagles too, Cbz40.

I was a kid at the time, but I remember a Cowboys - Eagles game in 1970 (or so) .... The Eagles were truly awful.

Dallas was mediocre in 1999 once Irvin went down but when they beat Miami 20-0 on Thanksgiving they effectively spelled the end of Dan Marino's career.

Miami went on to be slaughtered 62-7 in the worst playoff loss in history.

Also Dallas was without excuse losing to Washington twice in 1995, they were the eventual Super Bowl champion and Washington was quarterbacked by the carousel of Congressman Heath Shuler and wall head butting extraordinaire Gus Ferrotte.

The 1993 49ers weren't bad but when the came to Texas Stadium for the NFC Title game it looked like Jimmy's guarantee had beat them earlier in the week. There was nothing they could do that day to beat Dallas!

Dang, before I finished reading the first sentence I was going to mention that Seattle game.

ANother would be the Broncos in Superbowl XII. They weren't "BAD" obviously, but we made them look pretty bad that day forcing 8 turnovers and basically raping Craig Morton all game long.

I believe the Penn State Nittany Lions were the best team in in the state that year (they went 11-0). That wasn't a real good year for pro football in PA.
