Statistical reference.

It's not going to translate if I copy/paste, so notable Dallas mentions were Troy Aikman's 89 and 90 seasons being the worst performance in the entire league for those two years.

Quincy Carter ranked as the worst Cowboys QB of all time - but it was notable that the Cowboys didn't have a QB on that list until you got to 30th worst, which is pretty impressive. The only teams ranking higher were Minnesota and Jacksonville.

I remember watching Babe play. He's a good sports analyst though...

Dick Wood 1966 MIA 230 993 4 14 - 1.75 0 - 818

Looks like Dick Wood had a hard season in 66. Probably let quite a few down with his performance.

Babe is a very nice person.....he sat beside me at a S. A. training camp session a few years back and discussed players and things he was looking for......it was great.

Carter was pretty bad but I hated Henson, Hutchinson, Leaf, Banks, and Wright even more.

Carter probably made it because he had more attempts - so he was worse for longer.

I remember when we finally had to take the car away from my grandmother. She would barely peak over the steering wheel, clutched white knuckled in both hands, barely going 20 miles an hour. She would slam on the brakes at the most distant sign of trouble. A car merging into her lane 200 yards up the road? Slam on the brakes. A car not slowing down enough as they come to a stop at a 4-way intersection? Slam on the brakes. Squirrel darts out into the road? Slam on the brakes. Yet, despite the mindboggling, over reactionary skittishness and caution she got into an amazing number of fender benders and scrapes.

That's the way Joey Harrington plays quarterback.

JC is awful. Really awful. Like QC awful. But he doesn't deserve to be on that list at this time.

And that is a good thing. Like Joey Harrington (and to a lesser extent QC) he is just good enough that the Commanders keep holding out hope he will turn the corner and ignoring the replacement search. So it's the best of both worlds. JC is too awful to ever make the Commanders a threat, but he has enough "potential" that his sub-par play is overlooked and he keeps getting starts.

I hope it takes another 3 years for the Commanders to realize how awful he is. I'm glad their idiot fans and owner keep supporting him as a Messiah because that will keep him around. If they had any sense, they would have already started looking for his replacement.

LOL

My Grandma didn't learn to drive until she was in her 50's. She only did that after 2 different bus drivers had heart attacks while driving buses she was in.

She was a horrible driver. She would signal a lane change and then move over. It didn't matter what was there. I was ragging her about it one time and she said, "I've been driving for 11 years with no accidents."

I said, "yeah, but Grandma behind you is pure chaos."

I'm sure that I am in the minority here -- but I didn't see the Leaf move as a bad one for us -- low risk, developmental guy who made a ton of mistakes in the past. He didn't pan out but that's the kind of move that you'll get some payoff from once every ten times or so. If we realize the odds and don't expect every reclamation guy to make it then we can evaluate moves like this more fairly.

I might be by myself in this, but I feel that Joey Harrington is the product of bad franchises:)

I remember the sport radio stations here in Atlanta blasting callers who wanted to pick up Byron Leftwich after he was released by Jacksonville. The talk show hosts were ridiculing the callers because they had this great QB to replace Vick - Joey Harrington. :lmao2:

I don't think you can diss any quarterback that came in during the Campo era. Those poor guys routinely were labeled as failures; when in fact Campo was the failure.

Clint Stoerner showed flashes of brilliance, but threw too many interceptions. That's not all on him. A real coach would have held on to the brilliance, and worked with him to stop the interceptions.

Ryan Leif simply needed a chance to grow up; but was overrated from the beginning.

Chad Hutchinson was the worst, "dude" - he just needed to go play his guitar and sit on his surf board- and wait for the next wave.

As far as the worst Cowboys quarteracks of all time, it would have to be "Babe" "why'd you put me out here Jimmy" Laufenberg- who looked like he needed to check his shorts when he went into the game for an injured Aikman. And, then, there was Glenn Carano- who had no real arm.

Steve Pelleur had talent- but no experience. He did remind you of young Roger Staubach- I'm talking about the 12 year old Roger, who had yet to develop.

As far as other teams, I alway thought the absolute worst quarterback that ever played in the NFL for any length of time was Jared Lorenzen- who was just cut by the Giants, and who got picked up, while they left college standouts like Casey Clausen completely out of the game- simply because Jared was the biggest quarterback they'd ever seen.
