I would agree the eye test suggests Hurts is not playing at the level he was last year. But, that does not mean he will not get in the groove soon and be that guy again.

I am not a stats guy, for the most part. My belief is people rely on stats to prove a point about a player and his performance. My opinion, there is not a large enough sample size to determine if Hurts has come back to earth, or, for that matter, the Cowboys are at or around the top of the heap.

So the stat that impresses me the most is this.

2-0.

Which, remarkably is the standings for the Cowboys and Eagles.

Hurts has been bad. A lot of people on this site said he’d struggle. It’s still early but I did not see this.

Teams are daring them to run…..Pats and Vikings both played him the same way and teams will follow.

It’s also worth noting he started off slow last year too. There’s still time. I just thought I’d see a progression…

Looks like the golden boy hurts is struggling a bit :muttley:

He will have a hard time replicating last year's performance. I imagine it was kind of one of those perfect storm seasons.

Hurts will likely be solid-good the rest of his career, but the MVP caliber season he had last year was predicated on a very unique offense that defenses have had a year to study.

Anyone that is not an Eagle homer and not a fan of the good guy narrative knows that Hurts is a limited passer. Do people really think Hurts could run any other offense but the Eagles style. He was benched at Alabama because of his limitations. I am sorry homers he is still a running back that can can complete a pass.
