Worst teams to win a Super Bowl

This Eagles team is really good even without Wentz they wouldn't deserve to be on this list if somehow they win

I have to believe this will be one of the easiest roads for Pats . They must of been thrilled not to face Vikings at home.

Eagles are just happy to be there. Most had them one and done after Wentz went down.

By your twisted logic Pats are happy to play the destroyer of the leagues best defense? that's laughable. You're dullass coaching material for sure :)

Based on what I have seen, the teams that have won during the post free agency era are much weaker. So, pick one. The Pats are wracking up super bowls with a great QB surrounded by scraps and a great management/coaching structure. Compare their roster to say the 80's Niners or Bears or Commanders which not only has great coaches but were also loaded with future HOF players and pro bowlers. Even the teams that ruled the 70's were loaded with hOF players. The salary cap and free agency prevents teams from warehousing talent like they used to. The 2 teams playing sunday would get demolished by the 90"s Bills teams let alone Gibbs Commanders or Parcell's Giants.

Related worthless trivia:

Super Bowl X between the Steelers and Cowboys had only one player on both rosters combined - the Cowboys' Preston Pearson (coincidentally previously with Pittsburgh) - who had played for any other team.

Which speaks to another huge factor favoring the pre- free agency era teams. Knoll won 4 super bowls with basically the same team. Today, that team would get broken up and scattered to the highest bidders. LC Greenwood may have spent his career on 4 dfferent teams in they had free agency in the 70's.

I’d agree. But FA is only part of it. The Salary Cap is limiting teams from continuing to pay or retain all of their stars plus limiting the depth.

And I mentioned both of them in my post.
Sorry . I see now.

I’m so used to people blaming FA when I believe it’s the Salary Cap which has watered down the talent and prevented teams from maintaining most of their talent .

I was surprised to see the Super Bowl 9 Steelers on that list. I believe that was a very good team.

It's not th salary cap that's at fault. It's the mismanagement of the salary cap that hurts teams. The league is now predicated on three things, draft, development and moving on. That's it. No team can afford to pay a WR $14 million if he can't make everyone around him better. How you allocate dollars to your positions of importance makes or breaks a team.
