It would have saved 40 seconds for them. 3 minutes is an eternity in a league where a good team can be in field goal range in 15 seconds.

I think it was fine either way.

Calling the timeout saved 40 seconds. The offense…. I repeat the offense…. Has the opportunity to control the clock as they move down the field.

Unfortunately the offense, couldn’t complete one stinking pass.
