Worst year for refs... I hate them...

I know theres more going on with our team than the NFL reffs but am I only the one that has enough of these buffoons....andre gurodes check on the

ball called false start!!! The dumb ref that collided with Roy and then galiantly got back up quick to recant "touchdown" and thats just our games watch Nfl network as the top gun of the refs tries to explain all the boggus

calls im tired of refs screwing up games for the NFL anybody else had enough!!

For the most part the bad calls even out over time.
If they even out for us this year, we have alot to look forward to!

I totally agree with this.
I don't claim any anti-Cowboy officiating in the bigger scheme of things, any grand conspiracy or anything...
I just think overall, the officiating has been horrible. I think instant replay has been a big part of the culprit. Because of instant replay, officials seem to be more hesitant to make a call and less attentive and focused on making the right call on the field. Its as if they call a game like "they know that every call they make will be reviewed anyway so what does it matter?"
And then, it seems that half of the instant replay verdicts are flat out wrong despite obvious video evidence, which is even more frustrating to fans like myself. I sit through the extra game delay for the replay, and then they still get the call incorrect or worse, they reverse a good field call. Really angers me.

I see this too. Before replay, there were far fewer bad calls.

I suppose one could say before 24/7 multiple network coverage, plus 200 camera angles with 400 analysts disecting each and every play 1000 times over.............there were far fewer bad calls.

Always were bad calls.

Always will be bad calls.

Coaches make mistakes, players make mistakes....no different than refs making mistakes.

Great teams overcome such mistakes.

Mike Pereira is doing a terrrible job IMO. His inability to admit mistakes by officials is disturbing.

Did you guys catch this weeks "official review" on the NFLN? The fact that he wouldn't admit that the St. Louis "incompletion" was actually a catch was pathetic. Even after it was reviewed the officials got the call wrong...very wrong. He insisted on calling it a "cheap fummble for a first down." Who exactly is it cheap for Mike? How in the he!! can you change the rulebook because you think its "cheap"?

Mike simply isn't helping his own cause. It's almost as if he's taking it personally. If he thinks it is the "officials" versus "the game," we need a new head of officiating. Maybe the nest guy can compell the league to get some full-time guys in there.

There seems to be no accountability for refs that screw up. There should be clear consequences for ones that continually screw up. Demote them to the worst games. something. And above all else TAKE the replay calls AWAY from the field officials. Those that are part of the initial screwup have NO BUSINESS being part of the review. Separate crews do the reviews. Checks and balances. And we need a Top Official who is honest and tough enough to come out and admit when they blow it.

I don't think there any more bad calls now than before. We just have the technology now to see everything. When replay began fans were just happy to see the play shown again. Now everything is under a microscope and any little misstep can be shown on any tv in the world within a few minutes.

Knowing that, when Periera makes excuses to cover his officials butts when they blow a call is very frustrating. Maybe the new commish will look into this more during the off season. There has to be a way to getting some of the blatant miscalls reversed. Because the way they are handled now is unacceptable.

the league needs to pony up and just pay for year round refs who can devote time to learning the rules and who can collectively come up with a definition of these garbage in-between calls. Too many calls are decided by each refs interpretation of the rule. Is there any other word for that then inconsistent?

Buck up.....pay the 10 mill or whatever it would cost to cover the refs salaries and all expenses involved and get the calls stable for gods sake.

It is frustrating. It seems like he's the only one that doesn't see it. Rich Eisen, on several occassions, has been astounded by his lack of accountability. At least Eisen has the podium to throw a few jabs at Pereira...I just want to shake the **** out the guy.

One one play, a penalty, big deal. The rest of the game was called fine.

Now as for Pereira, he's getting pathetic on these things. Especially this last week, talking about the Min/NE game, when he basically said what the rule says doesn't matter because they don't want what they call "cheap fumbles" on "bang bang" plays. Of course, I was pretty sure the reason for replay was to help on those plays that happen too quick for the officials to make accurate calls all the time. I like that Rich Eisen goes after Pereira and keeps pointing out that it's obvious the wrong call was made, and doesn't let Pereira just spout BS and be done with it. It's great that now when the refs blow it the rule book doesn't matter, but in countless other instances he's always going back to the rule book's letter of the law.

Look at tapes from the late 70s or early 80s. Yes, there were bad calls. But we remember them because they were so rare. How many reversals do we see every week in today's NFL? The refs rely on replay way too much.
