Remember I told you that Quincy Carter was signing with a minor league arena team in the "Intense Football League" called the Abilene Ruff Riders? Well they played their first exhibition game Monday night and the superstar acquisition QC was.....drumroll please......
3 of 12 for 22 yards and one interception!
How'd the Cowboys ever let him get away?

Come on. You have to give QC at least two seasons in that new offense before you evaluate him.

Or at least that is the excuse that the Commanders use for QCampbell.

Man people love to hate.

The dude was a decent QB for us, who had an unfortunate event unfold and was cut.

He played decently for NYJ and was cut again for drug problems I believe. The guy cant seem to figure it out, and I feel sorry for the guy.

But since he's not an All-Pro helping us win Super Bowls, let the hate flow.

Dude, I'm not expressing hate for the guy, I just find it weird that a player we drafted in the second round and who played in the NFL as a starter can't even seem to play halfway decently on a piddly little minor league team. I actually had really high hopes for him when he was our qb, and I defended him for a long time hoping to see him improve, but it seems like he has just gone spiraling downhill ability-wise for years now. His backup came in and played a decent game and the Ruff Riders pulled out a victory.

I just completely disagree. I think he was one of our worst starting QBs ever.

I feel sorry for him, he had some good games when he was with us. I remember that great comeback against the Giants on Monday Night, Parcells first season. He had a decent arm, and really too much was being made about him.......if it wasnt for the drugs, he could make a good living as a backup somewhere in the league.

But his cut did save Tony Romo from being released, because we had Henson, Quincy, Testaverde and Romo and I dont think we were going to carry 4 qbs

He was one of our worst starting QB's ever. But look at the list of HOF QB's that we've had starting for us. I still think he played decent for us in 03.

All I'm saying is that he led us to a 10-6 record, passed for over 3000 yards, and got us into the playoffs. Yes, he had a TD:INT ratio of 17:21 that year, many times cost us a game with poor decision making, and was not a long term answer.

But I think in the overall scheme of things, I'd rather have him than Drew Henson, Chad Hutchinson, Ryan Leaf or any of those yahoo's.

Ok, did he have anyone to throw to? A running game behind him he could count on to take a bit of pressure off of him? An O-line that didn't look like swiss cheese? Just curious about the talent around him. It MIGHT have made a difference.

I'm not a Quincy fan myself, but geez folks...

I thought for sure this guy could be a 3rd string QB in the NFL. When I think of QC, I think of that character that Dave Chappelle did.....the guy that always had coke smeared all over his face.

QC sure pissed away at the very least a decent career of holding PATs.

Yeah I know we had the number 1 defense that year...but he's the starting QB who passed for over 3000 yards and a 10-6 record (that was not indicative of the talent level that we had). I'm not saying he was great...but he was decent.

Not to re-hash some VERY old wounds. But I have never been more right about anything ever in my life. I said that QC would "end up in Arena League 2 or worse." I was dead arse right! So for anyone who remember that terrible era in Cowboys history........At least one of us knew what he was talking about.
