My son had his first mma title fight last night in Atlanta, it was for the regional bantamweight belt. Austin is in the black trunks.

In the first round my son kept hitting an inside leg kick to his lead leg, which brien didn't like one bit. (I told Austin leading up to the fight Brien didn't like them, saw him wince in a previous fight from a leg kick) Austin was able to slip his lefts and counter beautifully, Austin got caught with about 45 sec left in the first with a body kick, but brien wasn't able to put anything behind his punches because he wasn't able to put weight on his lead leg. So in the video you can see he's trying to block what he's thinking is another inside leg kick. Oops he guessed wrong lol.

yes, just as much chance in combat sports as in football or any other sport. He's following his dream. I'm not going to try to stop him, I've taught him the risks.

Actually, MMA is better than boxing, because the fight is stopped right away. In boxing, you take a beating the entire fight, and there is a standing 8 count.
